Great video. Why not use the Consent Initialisation event? I'd also love to see how to show the consent in Google Analytics.

I first tried following the official docu. But the consent initialization always messed it up. Maybe I did something wrong after all, but my workaround helps. As to the consent being shown - it would be great but I didnt find a native way. What I did in the beginning was using the GA API to send a custom event if a User opted out. This way I got some added Stats. Disadvantage: API Key is Not Secret since in JS . Hence I removed it again

@michaelbreitund thank you for creating these videos. They have been a huge help for me to properly understand Consent Mode and how to work with it in GTM and GA4. I would have loved if you had included the source file of your example in the video, as it is quite a tedious task transcribe it from the video :P
