@@einfachorangensaft4879 saving water by using Olive oil? I doubt that saves money or the planet! :-) If you use a sufficiently large pan with sufficient water, pasta doesn't stick. By way of example, the pasta I buy recommends 6 litres per 500g. That's a big pan (pasta pot). I can get away with much less and it still doesn't stick (ever), as long as it is swimming in plenty of water. That's why Italian pasta packets don't tell you to add olive oil to the pot.

I've got a secret tip for you in exchange for your ear Dr. Ramsay. My secret pro tip for invigorating jasmine rice is to use 1-2 tbsp of coconut oil with chicken stock and 1-2 tbsp of yellow curry and slap in a bit of frozen peas juts as she boils. Finish with salt, and flavours are such that no one could have predicted but everyone loves. See if you can use that template as a springboard. Try some cumin, ajwain, or mustard seeds or something for a secret bonus fragrance. And sorry, yes everyone knows curry rice, but who actually does it?
@AlFaroBeer4 жыл бұрын
Everything he said about pasta is wrong: you don't need to add oil in the water, just remember to mix with a wooden tool every min or two and the pasta will be perfect (remember to taste it, don't trust the mins on the pack too much). The salt need to go in the boiling water before the pasta and no need to add oil, salt or pepper after, it's good only if you want "pasta in bianco" (literally white pasta and nobody wants that in Italy, it's an hospital dish) ps: I'm italian ;)

If they stick together then, wouldn't they cook unevenly? If anything, the oil makes them cook more even

@@Kevin-yp7yk The oil is swimming on top not doing anything. And if you coat them with oil the water cant get in. Is it really that hard??? Need a draft KEVIN?

@@LaserGadgets ... you realize that heat rises, right? The boiling makes the water turn in a cycle, from the least hot to the most hot. The oil cycles through too

WOW ...first huge mistake Gordan. NEVER, NEVER put oil in pasta water. NEVER !!!! Prevents sauces from sticking to noodles. Worst thing you can do. Just salt water. That’s it !!!! Then he adds more oil once cooked 🤦🏻♀️. That would be fine for pasta olio...no need for 2 times !!!
