Pinto beans recipe? You would make my working class father proud. Thanks for making meals that could feed a house full of boys like mines growing up. We had no sisters and we were always hungry male children on my dad's tight working man's budget. Pinto beans was the signature meal made by my mom. Thanks again for bringing back memories with a little bit higher calorie count recipes that fit the heavier food needs of a house full of boys especially (and girls of course).

I had only brothers (two) and I had only sons (four)and I married my wife cooked like my grand mother and pinto beans does the trick. I'm adopting two teens and the boy is eating me out of house and home - maybe we should go back to beans a couple times a week😂😂😂

I haven't made pinto beans in a minute. I always cook mine in the Crock-Pot. I wanted to cook them on top of the stove, but I was always scared that my beans would be hard. Watching your video, I always learn something new. If I cook it like this besides waiting hours in the Crock-Pot, I will be fine. I never used celery in mine, but I'm willing to try something different. This looks delicious ❤

You are cooking food from my youth and making me hungry. I would add some diced onion on top and maybe a touch of horseradish to give it a little more heat and I would feel like I was eating food fit for a king. By the way, I am 72 and from West Virginia and I had beans and cornbread for many a meal in my lifetime, In fact I will put some beans on to soak tonight so I can have some for supper tomorrow.

@leadfoot12292 ай бұрын
This is perfect, I make mine in the pressure cooker, ot doesn't take as long. I also use Better than Bouillon Turkey Base. Takes up a lot less room than those big cartons. I also add a drop or 3 of smoke flavoring to the cooking turkey legs for deeper smoke flavor. I could also smoke my own turkey legs with my smoker if I has time that way I know they are fresh. I have been waiting to see how you would do this. Thanks.

Here’s some tips you can add to your arsenal. Next next time you soak them try adding some baking soda to your water ( rinse well) you’ll thank me. Instead of just boiling your turkey, sauté them first to caramelize because all those brown bits “fond” that sticks to the bottom of your pot, just develops more flavor. Sautéed onions,celery in your fond. Then you can use your wooden spoon to scrape the bottom of all that goodness. You can also use a potato masher(or sometimes I’ll use a hand blender)to mash your beans in the pot less clean up. Keep up the good work and remember never trust a skinny chef. 😂 Bon appétit.👍🏽👍🏽
