Hello CJ. I'm wondering if I can portion the Tritip steak before grilling it. Lets say, cutting the piece in two (where the grain changes direction), freeze one, and grill the other. I live alone and eating a whole Tritip in a couple days its too much. My fear is that juices could be lost through the cut side.
@CookingWithCJ Жыл бұрын
If you portion it before you cook it, you’ll be fine. It would just cook like a bigger tri tip.

You do know that poking it with a sharp probe will allow the heat sealed skin to leak, the more you poke it the more the juices leak out until you're left with a dried out brick. Luckily, you didn't cook it that long enough. Using a Ninja, you don't have to flip meat as it uses convection heat, 25 minutes without opening it and flipping it, allowing it to rest is sufficient for a perfect med rare.
