12 yrsold palang po ako, new to baking!👩🏻‍🍳 super ez lang po sundin ng recipe since all of the instructions are written down with all the details po, I substituted “whole-wheat flour” for all purpose flour and i’ve also used “ milk powder” (diluted in 1 1/4cup water) instead of milk. for a healthier version for my fam ,It turned out amazing po! tysm for the recipe, proud po sakin family ko!! 💓 recommended tip & ideas nga po pala! : ~the pandesal can be filled w/ filling such as cheese, corned beef, and tuna filling para sosyal po🤣 ~this recipe can be turned into “dinner rolls” by skipping the breadcrumbs and just brushing it with “egg wash” instead. ~para po sa may gusto ng ube version nito, just add 1-2 tsp of ube flavoring sa dough yun lang po!! 💓

I just tried this recipe with my 9 yr old daughter and we were very happy with the outcome. It was fluppy and soft and more delicious when we filled with butter. Soo.... happy talaga pati anak ko tuwang tuwa kc sa dami ng pinanuod nming video on how to make pandesal, eto talaga ang “the best” kya salamat Brother Gil and Godbless po😊

Best baking video I've watched. Talagang di po exaggerated tong comment na to. I admire these long, detailed videos na talagang ine- explain yung purpose and mga do's and do not when it comes to making this. Kudos! I love this! I'd love to see more

Ang Asim nya. Lasang lasa Yung yeast. Kahit sinunod ko Naman proofing time. Much better if lessen nyo lang yest 2tsp is enough para di umasim.

currently following along & making this! UPDATE: they were AMAZING! i only made half a batch and they were gone within a few hours. about to make a whole batch now. thanks kuya :) side note: i didnt have bread crumbs but i made my own super easily. not quite the same, but they did the job. i toasted a slice a bread extra crispy (but not burnt) and crumbled it once it cooled, then put it through a fine mesh strainer. 10/10

Kuya.... YOU’VE got what it takes to be a REAL and EXPERT Bread(Pandesal) and maybe Pastry /Cake (??) Maker/Baker....whatever.... So organized, neat and I noticed how clean your hands are....and nails...trimmed at that ...You are so meticulous too......YOU made that ‘Pandesal’ like an artist..a sculptor, a painter......so genuinely a WORK of ART!!!!!L

Thank you, Flerida! When someone gives me compliments like this, I always remember my patisserie and baking mentors. They have educated me very well! My mentors Chef Heny Sison, Chef Vicki Villanueva and Chef Carlo Estagle have taught me the importance of being clean and organized in the kitchen. Up to now, I carried the habit of doing mise en place everytime I bake. All the ingredients should be complete, accurately measured and organized! They (chef Heny, chef Vicki and chef Carlo) are my inspiration and great influence to my skills and creativity in baking.

Dear Kuya Gil: Thank you for sharing your recipe. I followed to the T except I used bread flour, active yeast, Himalayan pink salt powder, and all organic ingredients. The pandesal still very good the next day. Absolutely wonderful and the best recipe ever. I am very objective and critical with my opinion because of my allergies and food sensitivities.

I'd love the way you present the step by step tutorials of pandesal. So detailed and you've given an exact measurement of each ingredients, neat on the way you do things. Thank you for posting this! Tried the recipe at home and its a success, won't drive far anymore just to buy pandesal..

Dear Kuya Gil: Thank you for this recipe from the bottom of my heart. I live alone overseas so I have had to learn to cook a lot of Filipino dishes. I really miss pandesal so I tried to make it. I am not a baker so I failed a couple of times. Finally I did your recipe like a scientist. It helped that you described each step blow by blow. I measured, I timed, I watched my yeast bubble as if it was a Petri dish. Finally I made a successful batch. As I bit into it I became a child again. We would buy pandesal from the corner store, 4 pcs for 1 peso, put in a brown paper bag. It was a simple breakfast, but far better than what I would buy later as a grown up, the manufactured bread from Pan de Manila which didn’t have the same softness or chewiness. Happiness can come from something so simple as a piece of bread! Again thank you very much for this recipe. I hope to learn more from you. God bless!

After resisting making pandesal because I was scared to work with yeast, I found your video. It's the perfect attention to detail and didn't intimidate me. Salamat! I look forward to your other tutorials. My pandesal wasn't as evenly portioned as yours but it came out truly soft and fluffy, and damn good!

thank you for a very detailed procedures. I hope i can make this bread as soft and fluffy as yours. I am just learning through watching from different youtubers. I understood fully now about the yeast. The last time i baked my ensaymada, i panicked why the yeast won't disolved well. and i only waited for a minute and i didnt cover it. I continued to mix and pour the remaining ingredients. The bread texture was rough and not delicious to bite, it was never fluffy. But during the kneading, the dough was so soft. During baking, i thought it was not yet done, so i adjusted the temperature. And the result it got burnt. I have to eat them anyway, coz if not ,money would be wasted and all my efforts too.

Hi kuya Gil, bumalik lang ako para mag thankyou sayo rito. Napanood ko ito kahapon. And gumawa ako agad at hindi mo ako binigo. Marami na akong na try peru hindi ko nagustohan ang lasa. peru ito 💯% nagustohan ko. And gagawa ako ulit, kasi kalahati lang yong ginawa ko kahapon. Hindi ko kasi alam kong magugustohan ko. At pinalitan ko lng yong fresh milk, mas pinili ko yong evap na milk kay sa fresh kasi gusto kong ma achieve yong old na lasa na kinalakihan ko sa probensya. At nagpalaman din ako ng cheese 🧀 subrang perfect. Thankyou so much kuya, deserve mo yong pasalamatan ka. At ma prove ko din sa hindi pa nakagawa na totoo yong recipe mo. and yong asawa kong hapon, i ask him kong pwedi nyang i rate nya 1to 10 and hindi sya sumagot agad2x so sabe ko sa kanya nasa 4or 5 lang ba ang sarap nya? And then tiningnan nya ako and he said pwedi mo syang ibenta At nagulat ako sa sagot nya, kasi sya yong una kong pinatikim. At subrang saya ko. Hello Marie, sobrang nakakatuwa naman ang kwento mo sa pandesal natin. One of the best compliments na natanggap ko to. Yung pandesal nga pala ang paborito ko g gawin tinotoast ko sya pag di na mainit. Meron syang kakaibang sarap pag tinotoast tapos lagyan mo ng favorite mong palaman. Pwede na tayong magbenta ng pandesal! You have my permission. Wag mong kalimutan iclick ung bell ha? para malaman mo kung may bagong recipes. Maraming salamat din! Thank you for your very detailed instruction, I followed it and it turned out so well, mine was creamy, fluffy and sarap!! I finally found a perfect recipe kasi I have also followed recipes from other posts in the past, unfortunately when I eat my pandesal the next day it turned out so dense and heavy. Today is my second day eating my pandesal and its still tasty and soft just like yesterday after I baked it. There is no need to place it in microwave for few seconds to make it softer 😋😋😋

Hello Susan, I am so happy it turned out perfect! try toasting it before eating. It's mas masarap. My favorite filling is Boursin cheese that you can buy at Costco or Trader Joe's if you live in the US. Or make some tuna or egg salad filling with mayo, salt and pepper. I suggest you try them! :-)

Thank you po! Lalo sa pagbigay ng weight measurements ng ingredients in this newer video. I had beginner's luck making this the first time with the older video, sobrang sarap ang perfect.. tapos di ko alam nung 2nd batch ko pala iba yung measurement ko ng flour (dahil siguro ibang set ng cups gamit ko). Buti na lang I used my food scale this time to get it right again for my 3rd batch! The 2nd batch with extra flour (mga 100grams) masarap pa rin pero parang putok, very siksik! I always use my digital scale po para consistent lagi ang pagkakagawa ng pandesal. Pinakita ko lang po pagmeasure sa cup para sa mga walang digital scale. Thank you for appreciating my video. Some say it is too long and boring. I just wanna teach especially to the beginners. :-)

Hello! Chef Gil. Thanks for sharing this recipe. Your demonstrations and instructions printed are the most important to understand easily kung paano gumawa ng masarap at malambot na pandesal. I'm sure magagawa ko ng tama dahil ibinigay din ninyo ang equivalents ng weights ng measuring cups to grams. I'm so happy dahil ganito rin ang natutuhan ko sa isang American chef. "Super galing ninyong magturo"! Hope to learn more recipes from you. Watch you in another video. God bless you.

my pandesal recipe has an evap milk and freshmilk. and the taste is really like the pandesal back in pinas .im watching your video just to make my pandesal looks nice the shape that i baked is not really perfect as yours but the taste is good.hope i could try ur technique using my recipe. thanks for the video.

I did follow your instruction, it was fluffy when was bake, but the next day it was a bit dense. Where did I get it wrong, please help😢😢😢

i love pandesal, lage akong nagtatry gumawa ng pandesal pero hindi ko maperfect, minsan matigas,minsan di umalsa, minsan hinda masarap ang lasa sinunod ko naman ang recipe, i will try this method next na gagawa ako pandesal,thank you for sharing

Mr. Gil I did tried the pandesal and it was really good! When I made the dough I can tell right away it’s going to be a good pandesal. It was very soft. I dont have to put any dough developer anymore. Thank you for your recipe. Looking forward to try some other recipe’s of yours.

To keep it warm cover it with newspaper (old school technique, parang mga naglalako sa Pinas, nasa cardboard box and covered it with newspaper)

Hi Kuya Gil. I really like your recipe, it’s fluffy and soft. My hubby loved the pandesal. Will you be able to share a big batch of pandesal recipe? I tried the whole wheat big batch recipe but found it more wet than usual so I added more apf. I think the measurements of the whole wheat flour is different with the apf. If you have po a big batch all purpose flour pandesal recipe or even with a bread flour pandesal, please do share. Thank you for sharing your talent. God bless.

I will modify the recipe. Pag hinalo kasi agad ang ube powder, magiging siksik ung pandesal. I suggest sundin mo ang classic recipe ko ng pandesal at gumamit ka na lang ng ube extract, hindi food coloring.

This is the best instruction I found to make Pandesal. I do have a question though because it only asked for 3 tbsp of sugar and I was told it lacked some flavor. Can I add more sugar or vanilla extract to make it sweeter and not adjust any of the other ingredients?

Add 1/2 - 1 tbsp sugar if it’s lacking some flavor. >1 1/4 of salt to me is salty.

Ang ganda ng instructions and the pandesal looks good. Some baker are using bread flour, some are using APF. Another Ang pagkakaiba ng dalawa? Bread flour ang ginagamit ko. Never tried to use APF. Some are adding salt once dry and wet ingredients are incorporated. Nagtataka ako ano kaya ang pagkakaiba? Before or after mixing wet and dry ingredients. Thank you for sharing.

@@vanessap2814 yes its realy tasted like Pandesal,soft and fluffy, you need to kneated the Dough as well. For me honestly my Pandesal in 3days are still soft and fluffy im so glad that i did it. Try it again Good luck👍🙏
