I will agree with all. This recipe is always great, for cupcakes or cakes. Sometimes I use half boiling water and half black hot coffee. Yummy. Never a miss w this classic recipe!

A good little tip is to put some simple syrup on the tops cake first, to help keep it moist plus as you ladies know, foundation first before makeup. Saw this on another video on Hershey's cake recipe and thought I'd pass it along. Did it myself and it frosted a lot better and has stayed moist well and also longer.

I have a kid's Betty Crocker cookbook that was given to me as a gift when I was a kid that has a cocoa fudge cake recipe that we have always made. I won a bake off as a Girl Scout with that cake. Just a note; incase you add the strawberries, after slicing in half to decorate, serve immediately, because I found the juice from them drips down the cake. Buttermilk🤔 hmm? I’m not sure, I don’t use a lot of buttermilk. Just thinking, when I make my pancakes (not totally the same) buttermilk vrs whole milk, I always prefer the whole milk. Now you have me curious to dive deeper into understanding the final results and difference. I’ll have to test it. Please let me know how you like this recipe! @@CookingwithShereen By any chance have you ever used applesauce for non chocolate or prune baby food sauce for chocolate recipes. I've had success with applesauce cutting the oil in half , replace it sauce plus a bit extra and it's very moist. Prune sauce for chocolate is ok but not as moist or velvet like with full oil
