Cool, But (C)rude: A Ryuji Sakamoto Analysis

Sometimes a best friend can be pretty annoying, but still loyal as can be.
Ryuji Sakamoto (aka Skull) was not exactly everyone’s favorite character in Persona 5: he could be brash, idiotic, and at times insensitive. But he was fully understood: he could also be sympathetic, altruistic, and a pretty funny person to hang around.
Ultimately, throughout all of his ups and downs, he was an incredibly engaging and fun character. Listen to why I feel this way!

Man, I love Ryuji he is the entirety of the phantom thieves smashed up to one character, their hate of “shitty adults”, the want to help people just to help, their righteous anger, the willingness to jump into oncoming traffic for the good of others, and everything else. Morgana might be the mascot for the Phantom thieves but Ryuji IS the phantom thieves.

Along with Futaba hes easily my favourite, the well meaning dumbass always sits well with me and hes the most genuine friend of the group imo, not to mention hes got some of the best designs both himself and his persona, even strikers makes him that much better i think

Very late to this video, im fine with the Morgana plot line on its own, my issue is that Ryuji gets treated even worse and it never gets acknowledged

@@smugumin3448 couldn’t agree more. Morgana having a crisis of confidence is a great idea, but with everything he says to Ryuji and his overall attitude, it’s hard to like Morgana at times

​@@animeegotists7527 Yeah I don't mind Morgana as a character, my problem is the game not balancing him as a character and his want for Anne very well, like he'll take a hard turn straight from his sad moments to being normal and going after Anne again, and him almost always being the one starting things with Ryuji then getting upset when things are said in return
