The Roo is a lot of fun. I just ordered the new Trout Magnet Trinity Series rod in the 5’ Ultralight. Got to try it out on a few trout so far and really like it. Very high quality craftsmanship it seems and beautiful.

Awesome job as always on the video brother, you never disappoint! Looked like a great place to fish, I like that rocky shoreline and the mountains in the background. Such a cool lure! If you enjoy float fishing, these are going to be lethal. I plan on using them with a float more in Spring when the big crappie are up shallow. Did you get the Russ Bailey kit that comes with the complete setup? Thanks so much for watching.🙏🐟
@chipseiler17662 күн бұрын
Okay Chris. I've got to get you to start using 4 lb. mono as backing on your reels. That way you can spool them all the way to the rim with those "specialty" Varivas lines. It gives me more casting distance and it just looks better. Another option you could try is the i_fish floats paired with the matching weight BG-1 i_fish jigs. They work really well for me. Of course, what you were using in this video was working just fine. Thank you for posting during this special holiday season.
@pistolcreek2 күн бұрын
Haha. Thanks so much for watching, Chip! I should dedicate more time to float fishing than I usually do. I have seen Victor’s floats and used the BG-1 jig heads several times. Great stuff! If I didn’t enjoy swapping my lines out so often, I’d probably just put two spools on the reels to fill them the edge. Honestly, I know it’s goofy, but I like switching line material and weights when one runs out. Depending on the body of water and species, I like to use a few different ones. I’m sure you are right that it would improve things to use a backer. Maybe I will give it a try sometime. 🐟🙏

How do you feel about a one piece shaft roof to a two piece rod shaft doors it makes a difference from catching fish? Since 2008 I’ve used a 5’7 ugly stick 2 piece rod and have caught every size trout and never thought otherwise. Thank you so much you make great video content so relaxing and peaceful tight lines take care and God bless!
@pistolcreek2 күн бұрын
In my opinion, fish don’t care what type, style, or brand of gear you use. That goes for rods, reels, line, and even bait sometimes. The difference lies in the pleasure and enjoyment it gives you when you are using it. If you are outside catching fish and having fun, then whatever you are using is the perfect setup that day. That said, I think there is some amount of difference in the sensitivity and feel between a one piece and a two piece rod, due to the joint. This is even more noticeable on a 3 or 4 piece travel rod. If you enjoy ultralight fishing, I highly recommend trying at least one single piece rod just to see what you think about it. Every rod I own is a 2-piece, with the exception of my St. Croix Panfish Series 6’…. Which happens to be my current favorite. However, the 2-piece Daiwa Presso is very close in terms of fun for me, personally. It also costs half as much. I hear so many great things about the Ugly Stick rods and know people who swear by them. Sounds like you have put some serious mileage on that rod and it just might be your “lucky rod”. Do they make it in a one piece? If so, you will like it , I think. Thanks so much for watching!🙏🐟
@granvillej33162 күн бұрын
@ thank you sir for your feedback and the reason I never thought of the one piece but the ease of two piece for travel. I will definitely check into it now and your response was absolutely brilliant if I’m having an amazing time in the water and making memories don’t sweat the small stuff!
