A variation of your set on sign rule. Sometimes you have to make your own sign. In the Texas panhandle its pasture and ag, not a lot of timber. In January here , the coyotes are breeding.. I would bag coyote scat where I would find it and then make a flat set at the corner of farm road intersections or a point where Ag and pasture meet. My bait was one coyote turd and I would soak it with bought coyote urine. This time of year they are very curious about other coyote's scent marking their territory... or at least its my theory. It also works well on areas where coyotes are trap wary from other trappers. Just wondered what you thought. Love your blog.

I have yotes traveling a roadway through my property. I set up and down that road on the sides in the center everywhere I see tracks but can't get them to come to any set. Even after I pull traps nothing comes to investigate any of the dirt holes or lures or anything. There's always fresh tracks. What am I missing.

Stu. I'm a hunter and a fisherman. I know coyotes are a nuisance animal and need to be kept under control. All I ask is that you dispatch the animal before filming your trap tips. It is one of God's creatures and deserves that respect. I appreciate all you do. Just respect the life you take
@joshuahunt12103 жыл бұрын
Agreed on all points.

Stop be moralizing. This video is excellent. I think this guy has respect for the animals he kills - but on other side, coyote is no pet, it is just a wild nuissance animal. It has just a few minutes of stress because of doing the video - but cows feel stress much longer being slaughtered, for example... We cant treat all animals as pets.

Ummmm... Not everyone believes in Bronze and Iron age War Gods. I don't think it's a requirement for ethical trapping. He made the video like this, not because one of many Blood Gods commanded it, but because anyone can put a dead coyote in a trap and claim it got caught on such and such set but a live coyote in the jaws says it all. It's not gratuitous, what he's doing. Climb off that horse of yours, take a knee, and look down the trail and you'll notice the view changes.

I heard you say a little about scent control I'm new at trapping and set some in the area where I was seeing fox and I seen a pawprint in the dirt close to my set but he didn't work the set hard enough to get caught do you think I'm leaving too much scent there?What do you think it is?

Stu , Thanks for all you do. I live in a residential area and have many arborvitaes that squirrels love to eat. I have tried everything, but they come back the next year. I loathe Squirrels! Its great that you will have all these trapping memories as you go through your life and it takes guts to share your catch, i live in the exact center of montana and trapping was the thing i enjoyed most, hunting season in the 70,s was over soon but trapping cats went till april, my best catch was a 40 lb bobcat north east of winefred , in the Missouri river breaks , life never ends and a coyotes life has it ups and downs and they hunt also, play your videos like you do, people dont have to watch, besides your sendind creatures to animal heaven ,a awsome place , where moast everything and everyone goes then and now. lile your sets , and your dont sweat the small stuff way of teaching.
