Your content is awesome, I've learned alot from watching the past couple years and been introduced to a bunch of lifters you've interviewed and referenced. Recently I've found some videos of Dzoni Benidze performing the jerk and it looks so unique I am mesmerized. I was wondering if you know if he has a channel/website, or maybe if you could do a video talking about/interviewing him? Thank you and much respect!

When it came to picking my first 16kg Kettlebell, I bought a BodyMax "Kettlebone" (a skull-shaped kettlebell). Sure it isn't a serious kettlebell, but they looked cool and added a fun factor to the exercise. In fact, I loved the one I bought in 2017 so much, I bought a second one for double 16KG lifts and have a 20KG Amazon basics bell for heavier days.

it may be a remarkable difference in the weigth, by some manufactorers you can expect variation of 5%. So 32kg bell could be 30,4kg or 33.6kg. That ist a huge difference

I have to agree with him on the cast iron Kettlebells being better for double handed swings, I found the handle of the competition kettlebells too small for double handled swings and I don’t even have big hands. They’r ok for low reps dhs but for something like Dan John’s 10000 swings challenge…. No thanks, I’d stick to the cast Iron. By the way you should definitely make a video on Dan John’s 10000 kettlebell swings challenge
@ProKettlebellWorkouts

The 10,000 swing challenge has to be one of the least thought-out challenges ever. I've heard repeatedly that people have hurt themselves by trying to compete a protocol that doesn't progress, but just starts the person doing 333 swings a day in perpetuity.

My ones are a wide titanium handle. Not quite like my iron ones, but still better than the standard competition diameter. I’ve used the ones at my gym and for 1 or 2 handed swings, iron are pretty great. I could snatch either depending on my mood. 😅

The argument for getting cast iron kettlebells boils down to (1) if you are on a budget (2) you literally only want to do TGU and some accessory movements. So if you are struggling with bills and want to train hardstyle, they are a go-to. Otherwise, it's like turning bolts with pliers.

Hi Gregory, as a user of Bodymax Kettlebones (the Skull shaped ones) 20 & 24kg, I can confirm that it does require 2% more concentration to make sure the skull is facing the correct way or u will end up with a MUCH more uncomfortable rep! I have been looking to invest in a pair of 12-32kg adjustable KB's, what are your thoughts on these? before I drop £500 on them.

@@lebe-stark I will respectfully disagree on that. I have been training kbs for over twenty years and have owned cast iron from 8s to 48kg. from the start and used fixed weight comp bells in gyms for over 15 years plus I own an original Iron Edge 40 kg. (with lead plates) adjustable that has served me well for almost twenty years including wedging an extra 2kg. plate in to complete timed S&S with 42 kg. And last December I bought a v2.0 Bells of Steel adjustable. Both of my adjustables work perfectly for all kb exercises and the mechanics are the same as the fixed weight comp bells. As always, technique matters.

I can't believe you just talked for 11mns about this... The tool is a tool, implement, nothing else...how good is it depends on the trainee. My first gym was stinky basement, old barbells, dumbells, machines...and the most jacked, fit, the most dedicated dudes were lifting there. When I went to "fancy" ones, comfortable, nice machines, barbells and cute kettlebells, colours, with handles for sensitive hands and waxed forearms. Every one of them was full of sissies, make-believe strong, fit, etc. The point - it doesn't matter what type of bells you have...you'll get used to them. Adapt. And yes, competition pro bells are a scam for an average Jo. Useless, too expensive. I have pairs of comp fitness 18, 24 & 32's, and they're as good as I make them - when traininig. And I had cast ones, great, and vynils completely fine... Sorry for my honesty. And yes, dude, LS bells are way too expensive, even with 10% discount.

While you are generally correct, if you get a crappy bell, that has a bad handle and wierd window you may learn poor technique and then get thrown off if you go somewhere with good/different bells. Worse yet, someone (obviously not you) might think ALL kettlebells were like the one they have and then assume KB training wasn’t for them because it hurts too much. When people (influencers) say “ideally you should buy competition bells” why? Because they are all the same size so the technique you learn will apply more easily to whatever weight bell you move up to, but any bell is better than nothing, so buy what you can afford

To be fair, while I agree coop’s shoulder press technique is sub optimal, he’s also using a 4kg (in the clip you used 🙂) and which such a light kettlebell it’s a lot easier to use subpar form …

@AlteredState1123 3 ай бұрын
I think you misunderstood Coop’s diminishing returns comment. I think he means that you can only go so far with the bells, because with bars you can keep slapping on weight. His lack of form reveals that he is not even remotely versed in the world of kb’s. Context is everything.

@ru8775 I'll put in my thoughts because the average consumer will not consider these differences when purchasing. 1. Our handles are contoured and textured for maximum grip and comfort, not just a straight, smooth tube, with a 90 degree angle that turns into the horn. 2. The distance from our handle to the bell has been refined through many prototypes leading to the perfect balance and wrist angle when holding the bell. I noticed the other, people's wrists are bent back at 90 degrees to accommodate for the imperfect dimensions. This also leads to the bell feeling bottom heavy in flight. 3. Our contouring has been refined through hundreds of prototypes. I won't go into all the details, but if this is not done correctly it leads to an unstable rack and lockout position. 4. Our bases are wider and hollow. This gives a more stable platform, an extra handhold, and a higher center of mass. 5. Our coatings are not paint but an industrial strength urethane. 6. We sleep easy at night knowing the people who manufacture our kettlebells have ethical pay and working conditions even if it means less profit and higher cost.

@@ProKettlebellWorkouts If this was coming from some random guy on the internet I would have said nothing, but coming from a brand account it is the worst PR choice ever and really caught my eye. Not everyone can afford the price of your premium product, and at the end of the day, any exercise people can get to improve their lives and health is good exercise. You sound snobbish and out of touch. I always thought we kettlebell lovers were a little more chill and open minded than the classic gym bros, guess I was wrong. I hate to see what fitness has become, just another shitty try to get rich quick scheme where profit is king and brands put people down for not buying their ultimately unnecessary expensive equipment. To anyone reading this who thinks their equipment is crap and they need to go spend money on premium stuff: Fitness is about hard work, discipline, motivation and improving yourself. Don't let these corpos brainwash you into giving them your hard-earned money when your own body weight will do the trick. Mac and cheese with a side of empathy and respect is always better than a beautifully broiled NY steak with a side of condescension and greed.

@faithdarkholme7079 Hi, My comment didn't come from a "brand account ", it came from me , the owner/ designer of the product, Nikolai Puchlov. We are not a corporate e-commerce company that buys cheap from China and sells at a ridiculous mark-up. I started this company out of a genuine need for a better kettlebell. Through competing, coaching, and owning a kettlebell gym, I saw many people give up kettlebells, get injured, and simply not get the most out of their training because of antiquated equipment. When covid shut down our gym, it gave my wife and I the time to focus on developing a better kettlebell. We could have bought boiler plate kettlebells off of alibaba and slapped a logo on it and called it good, but we designed ours from scratch. It took 5 different CAD designers, 100s of designs, dozens of prototypes, and five different foundries to get where we are now. We have chosen to keep all of our manufacturing in the USA, pay all of our employees good wages, and I have and still do help out in every step of the manufacturing process . We are far from a get rich quick scheme and our product truly is superior, but that comes at a cost. I feel for those who can't afford our products and we do everything possible to keep our prices down, but I won't have our products compared to some cheap garbage that is better served as a door stop. Feel free to reach out in person if you would like to know more about our products or manufacturing process. Best regards, Nikolai Puchlov

@faithdarkholme7079 A. I'm not in this for PR. We make premium kettlebells. B. This is no get rich quick scheme. We have spent ridiculous amounts of money on R&D and our bells are made in the USA by people who make good wages. C. We are not a corporation, just a husband and wife business that loves kettlebells and wants to put out the best products possible. D. We realize our products may be out of reach for some people, but our product is for those who want the best. When someone reaches out to us, they can expect an honest response from the owner, not a canned response from human resources.
