They were both handling it wrong from the jump. And reaching for a cops gun is the worst mistake that could end your life. When someone stands up, takes off their glasses and walks towards you (which the cop did), that means we are past the talking stage and the intent is to take action. I saw the cop consent to violence both verbally and by his actions. When he revoked consent, the kid let him go. When the cop escalated to attempted murder, the kid stopped the cop from shooting him.
