I drive an 05 Exploder, same exact trim, same color, same engine, same interior config and I absolutely love it. 202k miles and runs like a beast! When I saw you walk up to it I got so excited. I really hope you pick this one up and bring it back to life, 157k is nothing for these, those 2-valves will run forever, and as long as you don't hear the dreaded timing chain (they're not an engine out job like the v6 examples, i did mine at 195k miles out of my driveway, didn't cost me more than $400), they're awesome trucks, and finding the loaded Limited examples like that is getting really difficult lately

I remember when these Explorer had the infamous Firestone ATX II ATX and ATX Wilderness Tires. These were recalled in the Ford/Firestone Tire debacle on the first gen Explorer Any one else remember the Ford/Firestone Tire Debacle and the lawsuits that started in 2001.
@stephenbartram73772 жыл бұрын
Yeah I had them on my 981/2 2 door explorer put 58,500 miles on them no problems Only replaced them because they offered free new ones and if I didn't get them done after they sent the 3rd and final notice, I'd have to pay for new ones myself. At the time that this was going on I was delivering cocaine cola and 1 of the 7-11's I delivered to, the assistant manager that worked there told me that his brother worked at the tire factory where those tires were made and said that the excuse that was given about the tires causing it wasn't true He told his brother that the problem was caused by the axle on drivers side was the problem and a deal was made between who/whom to blame it on the tires
@andrerobinson7432 жыл бұрын
It was a boon for me as I basically never had to buy tires for the life of the vehicle. Bought new, traded after 100k miles.

On that f150, when you mentioned trailer brakes, that was the pro trailer backup assist.
@brian5o2 жыл бұрын
I have a different theory on the F150. I think that initially, the body shop had been authorized to repair the truck and began the repair however, as they began pulling things apart to repair the vehicle, they found additional damage that caused the insurance company to change their mind on repairing it and vs totalling it out.

On the Explorer, that's exactly what it sounded like when it runs out of fuel. If you take a look at the fuel Guage when you turned the key on it looked like the fuel gauge just fell to the floor. Would it make great content? Maybe. But I think it's a great find with the keys found. I honestly liked the blue ford flex in the background a bit better tho. Great video Randy, merry Christmas!

Definitely looks like the "Exploder" was out of gas. The gas gauge didn't move when you had it running. It could have had a bad fuel gauge possibly, or could have just been running poorly because it was trying to run on fumes.
