I’d go for the Windstar and Envoy and possibly the Cavalier. To find a Windstar in decent shape is rare these days, plus there is always a family in need of nice cheap minivan. The Envoy, I think would be a quick flip. They’re still nice looking suvs and plenty of them still on the road. Same with the Cavalier. I also really like the Sable.

I think the recorded mileage on the Cavalier might be right as the seat trim (not a GM high point at this time, especially in cheaper cars) still looks nice and tight and not showing any real wear, if you think about it to only have 53,700 miles on it it's spent a lot of its life sitting still and the parts you said had been changed out may well be routine replacement items for AT&T maintenance, or they could just have gone bad with age. The question is, is it worth putting the time and trouble into it to fix the broken interior parts to make it a retail-fit car. With the Envoy I suspect the problem could be an engine temperature sensor that's gone bad so the computer thinks the engine is perpetually cold so it's running constantly on cold fast idle which is the same as having the choke on all the time in a carb vehicle. I've seen that plenty of times on fuel-injected vehicles. It could be an easy and cheap fix, the downside is that if it's been run over a long period like that the catalyst could be coked up and potentially even the exhaust and I suspect replacing them could be expensive...

Funny thing seeing the 05 Mercury Sable. I've got my Mom's 03 Mercury Sable with 29k actual miles. Runs great, but no overdrive on the transmission so fuel mileage is average. Arizona car to boot. Problem I have is that the battery goes dead after a week of sitting. No one seems to know how to fix this issue. It will stay charged (enough to start) about 2-3 days. Other than this issue, it's a great car.
@gosportjamie
@gosportjamie 5 жыл бұрын
I think the Sable could be worth a punt if it's cheap, the previous owner was clearly a heavy smoker and I suspect drove it around with the rear armrest down all the time, that black stuff that looks like mould or mildew might just be cigarette ash that's got blown under the rear armrest and crunched into the grain of the leather. I've seen a few cars like that and they clean up fine, the hardest part is getting rid of the cigarette smell as that is an instant turn-off for a whole lot of buyers. The Buick is a no-brainer, clean all-round, low miles, cheap fix if you can find a matching bonnet/hood and the fact that it has a carphone aerial on the rear screen suggests the first owner had plenty of money so it's probably been well maintained. If the price is right there should be plenty of money in it and not much work to make it retail-ready...

I wouldn't bother with the Neon, they're just junk, if Mike sells that to someone he'll be seeing it back every week with problems. As well as the weak transmission in them that one has clearly recently had a burst radiator top hose as there's rust stains all over the top of the engine and the top hose is clearly new as it still has the label on it, and those engines are not at all resilient to being cooked so the head and head gasket on that one are probably on borrowed time...

I don't know where you live and I'm fairly new to channel. But I want to point out that red dust in engine bay, it's not organic. It may be because of dust storm over night or if it's a dusty place, maybe sitting on the lot, in the wind and dust may cause it to accumulate over 2 3 weeks. Because the same colour dust is in the most of the door seals too. Best wishes

Hey Mr Randy my name is Brent Guevarez I live down here in Florida and I'm a owner of a 2005 Dodge Neon Se. One thing that I can tell you about the Dodge Neons is they are good cars. For mine I had it for 3 to 4 years now (bought it when it had 79,000 miles now it has 124,000 miles) it has survived two accidents (one of which it should have been totaled) the car still ran and drove and it has survived hurricane Irama (in which it was flooded up to the shifter) and the darn thing still ran and drove. Right now I have a cooling issue going on but other than that its pretty much a good solid car. Mine is a stick shift so nothing wrong with the trans or the clutch. Thus so far I had to change the timing belt (which will last about 120,000 miles trust me on this), I also had to change both CAMSHAFT and CRANKSHAFT SENSOR (thankfully the Camshaft sensor is very easy to get to but Unfortunately the CRANKSHAFT SENSOR is not so easy to get to, its right underneath the starter), I also had to change the brake calipers and I also had to change the cooling fan motor and I also had to change both the engine and transmission mounts. The dash board is VERY easy to change it has two screws on each side and two up on the top in the exhaust vents. The Neons are good little cars they get about 36 mpg on the highway and about 29 mpg on regular roads. The Neons are valued very cheap mine is valued at maybe $2,000.

My brother had a Jaguar. It was basically a Ford Taurus. I said you are going to hate when you buy parts. He told me no , Ford owned Jag at the time and he could just buy Taurus parts. I laughed and said good luck. Well first brake job it needed brake hoses in the rear. $90 just for hoses, lesson learned. Lol

AT&T takes very good cars of their mechanically. and will have all service records. ME and my dad we buy this Caviler and fix all the parts and body have about 12.00 in it and ask 2995.00. The second one reminds me of blown intake manifold gaskets. All GM from the late 80's into the 90's 3100 (31L), 3400 (3.4L) 4300 Vortec (4.3L) 2800 (2.8L) and the Vortec 5300 (5.3L) and some of the 3800 Series I II III (3.8L) were all noticed for blown intake manifold gaskets causing the gas to dump into the oil.

The answer for every Taurus and Sable should be no. The transmissions are very expensive and the lot would have to warranty the car if you are going to do a buy here pay here. When you are starting out, buy more dependable cars.
@AutoAuctionRebuilds
@AutoAuctionRebuilds 5 жыл бұрын
You definitely don't know the laws in my state lol. We are not required to warranty a buy here pay here. The transmissions are not expensive in this car you can get one from the local LKQ for a 100 bucks and they are easy to replace.
@tsukisan6765
@tsukisan6765 5 жыл бұрын
Randy, I am not talking about the law. When you sell a car on the buy here pay here program and the transmission goes out, the buyer tends to not make any more payments on that car. I have never understood buying something like a transmission from a junkyard. How do you know that one is any good? I was talking about having it rebuilt, which, at least for the older models, cost $2500.00. I am not sure if it is the same transmission on the newer models, but I have always stayed away from used Sables and Taurus' even though I like the cars. I did buy a new one back in 1997, but it was under warranty.

I would buy the Chevy Trail blazer. They sell well, they have low repairs, they run 300k with minimal problems. People like them so it should move off the lot, and should be plenty off them for parts. The other would be the Hyundai, very reliable cars. Shouldn't have to worry about someone complaining about a lemon. The rest I would walk from.

Aftermarket Stereo systems only cause that problem when people don’t get it professionally installed or they don’t know how to properly operate whatever sound system they have in the vehicles, because for some reason people thinks it’s a bright idea to blast a system to the max with a heavy bass song and overheat the amplifier which trigger the fires or the allow exposed metal to touch hot wires but to each is his own😉

The Cavalier, Envoy, Sable, Century and Grand Am are great flip cars for you if they are sold cheap enough! The Impala and Windstar are not good flip cars due to the Impala having moderate damage and the Windstar with a possible transmission issue. The 5 cars that are in the video are better flip cars than the S600. The S600 was the most problematic flip car you ever had because you had to replace a lot of parts costing a fortune!
