Also a local here. Great tips, Adam - and I also always recommend people coming between May and October (September *can* be quite nice, if we have an _Indian Summer_ ). ☀ But June─July─August ftw. Yes: Learning the bike rules and not walking out onto the bike lanes are important for visitors. 🚲 Ride slowly on the right side on the bike lane (if you rent a bike). TY. _PS: I like your choice of music, footage and editing._

I would like to add, that buying a ticket for transport, is paying for transport in zones, whatever way you choose. You can select Train, S-Train, Metro, Bus and the yellow harbor ferries. You can combine your journey between these methods of transportation, as you like. Maybe a train from Airport to Nørreport, change to Metro going to Frederiksberg, here you take a bus to your end station. You pay for getting from A to B, regardless of transportation. When I am visiting family in CPH, I usually take a day "off", buying myself a Citypass and travel around the city without a plan. A Citypass is very convenient.

Very helpful guide! I am travelling to Copenhagen in November, any tips for fall/winter travel?
@thenordicadam6 ай бұрын
You'll need some good clothing layers for sure! And perhaps consider doing more inside activities compared to what I might show here. So mix in a museum, a cafe visit etc. in between everything else. It also gets dark really early, so keep that in mind for when making plans. I will be making more videos focused on winter travel in Copenhagen, when we get a little closer, so keep an eye out! Thanks a lot for watching.

P.s. are you available for daily hire wingman while I’m in KBH. Although I know the city pretty well, the last time I was there was in 2006. A lot has changed I’ve noticed.
@luffegasen77116 ай бұрын
Depending on how much museum watching you are going to be doing. A Copenhagen City Card is good! It gives you free public transportation and free admission to up to 80+ attractions! Including Tivoli and also some museums outside Copenhagen. I.e. In Elsinore (The "home" of Hamlet"), Roskilde (Don't miss out on the viking ship museum!), and Lejre (The old "capital" (though capital wasn't used at that point in time. The king was travelling around the country. It was when we had an elective monarchy instead of hereditary as now). There have been loads of Stone age, Bronze age, iron age, and viking age finds in the area. Don't miss out on Lejre Land of Legends. An open air museum from prehistoric up until the medieval times.)

Some great tips here! Thanks for sharing.

Hej Adam, I really enjoyed your video. I was an expat in KBH for about 10 years and I’ve been planning a trip back for 10 days. Can you recommend a hotel in Fredericksberg that’s affordable and near Fredricksberg Alle? Thanks, and tusind tak.😊ogsa, is Cafe Victor still open. How about that jazz club, La Fontaine? Those two places were my favorite hangouts with my jazzy friends Kristor, the “bassman” and Janus, the “tommermand”.
@thenordicadam7 ай бұрын
Hey! Somehow I missed your comment, apologies. Sounds awesome though! You could look at Cabinn Scandinavia hotel or maybe Hotel Sct Thomas. I do go over some of the options in my newest video! Cafe Victor is still open and going strong :) I have never been to La Fontaine, but as far as I can see, it's still there and plenty of events going on!

What's the city like around valentine's/ mid February? I have a trip planned then. But second guessing it.😅
@thenordicadam8 ай бұрын
It's beautiful and not so busy - but pretty cold 😅 And probably quite rainy. So depends on what you're looking to do. In Winter, I recommend tying in more museum and indoor activities (compared to summertime), just cause you likely won't be wanting to walk around outside all day. It can be fantastic in Winter, if you just know a bit what to expect, mainly regarding the weather 😅

I am going to be visiting Denmark this summer. However, I am a bit afraid because I have a connective tissue disorder that makes it very hard to walk long distances as my joints regularly dislocate. How would you suggest getting around?
@thenordicadam6 ай бұрын
The public transportation is great. You can easily take the metro between the major places you want to see and not have to walk as much. You can use journeyplanner.dk to see and plan your routes - if you take the metro a lot, look into a 72h ticket (or however long you're staying). Doing the boat tour is a great way to see the city from the water. You could also do the hop on hop off buses. Or take a 'bicycle taxi' to see the city from street level - without as much walking. Hope you have a great trip!
@angelagerber4706 ай бұрын
@@thenordicadam Thank you! I will look into that! I live in California, so it's safe to say I have only taken a bus a handful of times, so this will be a new experience. I will be staying for almost a month visiting family, so it is probably a good idea to invest in a travel card.
@thenordicadam6 ай бұрын
@@angelagerber470 Ah, that sounds awesome! Then you could also look into getting a 'Rejsekort'. It's what us locals use - essentially it makes all trips a little bit cheaper, but there's a start up charge so it's really only worth it for longer trips. You can get these at the larger stations at the ticket counter I believe.

The transcript really can't handle Danish placenames! I need to watch the walking tour segment again to write all the places down. Otherwise a really great video!

Hahah, never thought of that! Apologies. Hope it was still somewhat useful. I will try to better write the names on the screen going forward - thanks for watching!
@helenlayley6 ай бұрын
@@thenordicadam The names on the screen are OK, l think. I still haven't gone back to write down the walking tour places . It was the automatic transcript which was terrible. I was hoping to just screenshot the transcript but l have to work a bit harder! Thanks, anyway, l intend to pop over from Skåne next week and explore on foot.
