@@MrMundo3d The problem is like neighbors. You can have a great neighbor for 40 years and some real piece of work move in. HOAs even if not horrible now can be twisted into the most petty annoying nosy group of people. Given that HOA can issue fines far worse than a neighbor too.

I’m not sure why you wouldn’t want an HOA. Typically neighborhoods without them are unruly and unkempt. You will end up with neighbors with pink garage doors and green roofs and it will destroy housing prices. The key is not avoiding HOA‘s all together, but avoiding the ones that are poorly managed.

You're right about the grass breaking up fast here in Florida. A neighbors grass was 10 to 12 inches high. After it was cut all you could see was the cuttings. So in a lot of cases its either over pay for an old house or buy a newer/new home with an HOA. I see a lot of lawn service vids with their trimmer guards off. Is it just preference or is there something to it? Makes me miss Florida mowing lawns with my dad and me. Good timez
@QuickieHub5 жыл бұрын
Mainly just a preference if you want the trimmer line to go out farther. Some people can trim faster with the guard off because the line can go out a couple inches farther
@CopperCreekCuts5 жыл бұрын
Like Excellence said, it lets more line out. I have an attachment without a head for a commercial property I do with pond banks, because the angle gets guards caught. Disadvantages include extra wear on the engines and less safety without a guard.

A lot of comments on not picking up the clippings. Unless you have a thatch "problem" with leaving them, the only benefit is looks. Grass is taking energy out of the ground, so just leave it there to be used again.

I once lived in a very nice house in an HoA. After all of the Karen's running the HoA's I traded it for 50 acres and a manufactured home. Only drawback is rattlesnakes.
I’ll take snakes in the grass over snakes in the hoa.

If you were that customer you would be happy because if you let it get to that point you obviously don't care.
@CopperCreekCuts5 жыл бұрын
If you wanted it cleaned up more you would have paid 3x. I have no problem working on a yard until there are no clippings, and in fact I always explain the options. Cut once and let the grass break down for X, or make it look perfect for 3X. Since I have to triple cut a yard like this to eliminate clippings I would have to charge 3X more. I have NEVER had anyone want to pay 3X more when paying X and waiting a week for the clippings to break down get the same result.

I always break into laughter at the American way of life when I see this stuff. 'Violation'? What, or whom has been 'violated'? Can someone please elaborate on this term?
@CopperCreekCuts4 жыл бұрын
Think of an HOA (Homeowner's Association) as a mini government that makes rules the neighborhood has to follow. Everyone who buys a house agrees to live by those rules. If the rules aren't followed, the HOA has the authority and ability to fine someone for a violation. Typically, violations on this channel come about from not following rules around maintaining the property. Grass is too tall, too many weeds, etc.

I am certainly glad you ise a side discharge instead of a rear bsgger/ mulcher unit cuz in mulcher mode they leave clumps. The side discharge spreads them out, dries them a little, and spreads the nutrients out over a larger area. I would have cut it higher first then cutout all again a little lower. I appreciate the skill if takes not to spray the roadways and flowerbeds. Nice going. Some people use a side discharge for years and they never get the message. They blow all over the roads driveways sidewalks and flower gardens with wild abandon and think they did a good job.

That was 30 minutes of your life wasted and you will never get it back. Yes, grass has to be mowed, if only for your protection against snakes and vermin, but when it gets done should be YOUR choice. Freedoms, once surrendered, are hard to get back.

You call THAT tall grass?? Call me when it's up to your shins. I'm so glad that the HOA concept doesn't exist in the UK. People have far more important things to worry about than whether someone has mown their lawn or trimmed their hedges, such as actual crime and anti-social behaviour.
@CopperCreekCuts4 жыл бұрын
Tall compared to a yard that is regularly maintained, yes :D Just because taller grass exists doesn't mean this isn't tall.

In USA everybody thinks lawns have to look like golf courses and if there is any other plant growing in the yard then neighbors think you are bad. But dont forget it is the chemical companies that make people do this and anyone who thinks they have to be a perfect grass neighbor should go follow the rest of the sheep off the bridge cause they are all dumb and retarded.
@1234loci5 жыл бұрын
Nice job mate. Yes I know the drill about the clippings but it just so much cleaner without this massive amount of it. It is not a problem if the lawn is regularly mulched ofc. (it is not your fault it's the owners)

That's an awesome mower! I mow along the driveway and sidewalk first, then edge and weed whack, then blow the grass off the street and sidewalk, into the lawn, then mulch it all into the grass. There's less wear and tear on your edger that way and you can go faster. It's crazy to edge first, especially when the grass is that tall. You mow grass weirdly, a lot of the time you are mowing nothing. ie. 14:57 Waste of gas. That's too much grass not to bag the clumps at the end when you are not using a mulching blade. It will hurt the grass below it. I suggest this: In the middle of the area of lawn, take two or three strips down the center. Then take a couple of more center strips out, blowing the grass into the middle strips you initially cut. Then start from the far outside and blow towards the middle. At the end, go over some of the middle strips again, collecting most of the cut grass in the center of where you started. Then use a bag to collect the thick mat of cut grass. Put it in a compost pile, if they have one. You will be done in less time. Always use a mulching blade.
@CopperCreekCuts5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! Here is why I edge first on overgrown yards: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jnayd5iGobeAhqcm2s. At 14:57 I am not mowing nothing, I am double cutting the strip to get rid of any stragglers the first pass left. You can't see on camera due to the quality and distance, but there are a few blades here and there that don't get cut on the first pass. Bagging isn't very popular down here as grass clippings, even clumps like those, will break down in a few days. The customers rarely want to pay extra for something if they don't have to, and thankfully down here they don't have to. Plus I have no bagging system and no way to dispose of them, so even if I wanted to offer bagging I couldn't. Thanks for watching!
@alan301895 жыл бұрын
Copper Creek Cuts Lawn Care - Got ya on the double cut to get the stragglers. Yes, I couldn’t see them, on my cell phone. Consider a mulching blade. I think mulching blades are the best thing for lawns, and the grass blades break down even faster. On regular height lawns, you can’t even see the clippings if you use a good mulching blade. Cheers!
