I remember hearing a few days after the event, that apparently there was a secret service team inside of the building that the shooter was roosted on, standing by as a reactionary force. I imagine this caused severe confused with the communications middle man on the secret service side. I agree with you... what a terrible, stupid, elementary mistake that they made.

I got pulled over by the cops just a few days before this because someone saw me RIDING MY MOTORCYCLE with a black vest on and reported to the cops that they thought I was possibly going to do something like this! So you mean to tell me that a person riding a motorcycle with a black vest on is reason enough to pull someone over and treat them like they did something horrible, but a guy climbing a roof with a gun at election rally ISNT enough reason to do something? Riders who wear black vests do so for a simple reason and it has absolutely nothing to do with anything other than IT DOESNT STAIN AS EASILY! Yet, even though riders have been wearing black vests for pretty much as long as motorcycles have existed its reason enough to be pulled over and questioned just because some snowflake had some "feelings!" This guy though, he literally had a gun,... at an election rally,... on a roof trying to not be seen! Yet, not something important enough to take seriously!?!?!?!?!?!?! WOW.

If a regional LE thinks he sees something and rationalizes this could be normal should not be in a LE position. Listening to you two rationalizing helps me understand what went wrong. I’ve been involved in numerous Vp and POTUS protection details. If they tell you no one is to go through a door except SS or the president, no one goes through. Example, a chief of staff to a VP wanted to go up to the VP’s hotel floor bypassing SS checkpoint. Absolutely didn’t give two fucks who he was, he was denied. Claimed he was going to have myself and my team guarding the entrance fired, still denied. He obviously complained and it landed on deaf ears. Head of SS detail came said excellent work and the CS was coming back to apologize.

They saw him go from a ladder to the roof, hard to hide a rifle at that point. They correctly identified it as a rifle, they did not say he had a hand gun. You say " If I had seen him crawling on the roof I would have thought, he's just trying to get a better view". In what world does a man that is "just trying to get a better view" get on a roof then crawl ? Anyone would get off the ladder and walk on the roof not crawl. And again the spectators said he had a rifle before any shots were fired. They saw it when he was climbing onto the roof, not afterwards.

Many years ago, when I was a younger man, I was in the CT National Guard working at an airport in CT. Ronald Reagan was flying into the airport main terminal (next to our facility) to transfer into an SUV and drive away. Hours before the helicopters arrived, the Secret Service arrived and spread out all over the entire airport INCLUDING our hanger. Keep in mind that everyone in our hanger was in the CTNG and wearing US Army uniforms. That day I was working (in uniform) on a Cobra Attack Helicopter on the flightline. The Secret Service agents insisted that I could not work on the aircraft when the helicopters arrived because No one was allowed to be in elevated positions. That day, there were agents on the roof of our hanger. How the hell could a rooftop 150 yards away from the stage NOT BE OCCUPIED by a Secret Service Agent or at least a local police officer?

I was on a suburban fire department as a Asst Fire Chief. We worked many mutual aid fires with numerous other agencies and we ALWAYS established a command post where each dept placed an officer with direct communications to their own people. There was no need for us to have direct comms with each dept other than that command post. The MOMENT the officer was notified that a potential threat was present, than info should have IMMEDIATELY been relayed to his superiors in that command post which would have had the SS officer present. This bullshit of blaming communications is exactly that.

It is my understanding that there was a permanent ladder set up. You can see it in later photos. Obviously, if the officer is walking around or needing to be hoisted, that ladder wasn't secured.

The security of the rally in its entirety was grossly mishandled by all parties charged with the duty of securing it. This was largely due to inexperience, complacency, and inaction. Being a S.W.A.T. officer really didn't do anything for you, except maybe put a few extra lines on your resume. Although I would question which S.W.A.T. team were you employed by? Uvalde? Speaking as someone who has ACTUALLY run toward the sound of hostile gunfire, and actively engaged deadly opposition to defend innocent life, I can comfortably say that the two of you need to seriously question your lot in life as men, not even as LEOs. You are severely lacking in character. Please, for the sake of your families, try to do better than just towing the "thin blue line." Disgraceful!

So law enforcement will take an anonymous tip made over the phone against a citizen accused of a crime seriously enough to confront said citizen. And many times , depending on the information conveyed by the tipster , that initial contact will be (and in some situations should be) made with the possible suspect with their weapon drawn / gun in hand . But in this scenario, with many witnesses saying their is a man with a gun on a rooftop at a Donald Trump rally , that this officer made the appropriate response! Bull$hit . I support any LEO that can competently carry out their duties with honesty and integrity. After watching this and other videos, i am sure that many of the officers working security that day do not possess all of these qualities. And your defense of their actions show that neither of you do either.🎉
