“Copy Cat” Iconic Cracker Barrel Meatloaf

Today I’m making the Mother of all Meatloafs. Cracker Barrel Restaurants have long been known for their delicious moist flavorful meatloaf. I’m going to show you how you can make it at home. You’ll think you’re rocking in a Cracker Barrel rocking chair waiting for your table!! A perfect Summertime Dinner. Enjoy!!
Copy Cat Cracker Barrel Meatloaf
1 1/2 lb ground beef
3 eggs
1 1/2 sleeves crushed Ritz crackers
1/2c finely chopped onion
1/4 c finely chopped green pepper 5 oz. shredded sharp cheese
1/2 c milk
Salt and pepper to taste
Topping
1/2 c ketchup
1/2c brown sugar
1 t yellow mustard.
For full recipe, bake meatloaf without glaze for 35-40 minutes at 350. Then add glaze and bake for another 30 minutes. Check for donees. All ovens are different so you may need more or less time.

This is the best meatloaf I have ever tried. Only my mom's recipe was better, but she died and I never got her recipe so this is the best one I have ever tried and believe me, I have searched and tried but was never satisfied until now. I make the full recipe meatloaf and eat it all by myself, so a few great meals and this is the third time I have made it and this recipe is a keeper. Thank you so much.

Yay Pam. How kind of you to tell me. It’s the greatest meatloaf I’ve ever had. Try taking the same mixture and form meatballs. Drop them gently in flavored and seasoned (basil, oregano, garlic and whatever else you) like)tomato sauce and cook on low till done. Fantastic spaghetti and meatballs. 😁

I have a very similar recipe that my family scarfs down no matter how big I make it . I add just a dash of Worcestershire sauce to the glaze but otherwise it’s almost the same. I can absolutely vouch for it . Heavenly.

Thanks Darlene, I love Meatloaf! It is one of my all time favorite Fall and Winter dishes. I use the recipe on the Quaker Oats box. I also cook it in the crock pot on low all day. I put it on a rack with a little bit of water in the bottom. It creates steam and it keeps the Meatloaf moist and delicious. I use my favorite topping of ketch up, mustard and brown sugar. So very good.

In all my 70 years, I’ve eaten and made many many different meatloaf’s. The particular one ai always make now has the same glaze as yours with the exception of tomato sauce instead of ketchup. Try oiling potatoes and make a boarder around the meatloaf. I prefer my recipe, but I'm not a ketchup person. I adapted the one on the Saltines box. Use chicken stock instead of milk, replace pepper with ginger, and teriyaki instead of Worcestershire.

Hey sweetheart. You are such a JOY to watch and I love how simply homemade dishes that people just don't make anymore. I love to cook. But now that I'm getting somewhat crippled because I have alot of severe disabiling diseases and 5 pinched nerves and bone spurs, scoliosis,ddd,arthritis, SWAY back,narrowing of the lower spine, klosiosis, bulging discs, disolved discs, siatic nerve pain, high blood pressure, hypothyroidism some addiction issues due to thise aweful pain medications the Dr's had me on for several years. Panic attacks,anxiety, ocd that feels like I'm going insane, ptsd. I am not able to do alot in the kitchen anymore like I use too . And I miss that so much. The pain is just too severe for me to stand and cook like that anymore. But I sure do give it a good try. I haven't completely given up on it. And I know GOD WILL TOUCH AND HEAL ME WHEN HES READY. BUT I JUST WAS WONDERING IF YOU AND YOUR SWEET HUSBAND COULD KEEP ME IN YOUR PRAYERS AND KEEP SENDING OUT THESE AWESOME RECIEPES. LOTS OF LOVE, HUGS AND MANY PRAYERS FOR YOU ALL SWEETHEART.
