@@reefboy2558 yes it is, 100%. A freshwater with a beta can literally just be a bowl. A marine tank needs all of the equipment of a freshwater, constant maintenance and testing, and sometimes even additional equipment like protien skimmers or reef lights

Back in the olden days when corals were just ripped off the reef, a coral frag was just a broken off piece of a larger coral. I can remember buying a mixed bag of frags for $10. Now they are these nice, cultured pieces and you know exactly what you are getting but waaay more expensive.

Love your videos! I hate to be one of those people but you guys are loading the refractometer wrong. Pro tip: put the cover down first and gently load (capillary action) at the tiny curved spot. Source: I am a medical lab scientist and we still occasionally use a refractometer to confirm specific gravity.

When adding new coral would you accumulate the new coral like you would a new fish? Float the bag for 30 or more minutes add tank water to the bag let sit a little longer and then add the coral to the tank? I'm thinking about getting some Acans but I'm trying to get information before making the leap.

Typically, you float the bag to match the temperature. Then you can add some tank water slowly if you want, but it depends on how hardy the coral is. Some people don't do it because you have to dip the coral anyway. Dipping tends to piss the coral off pretty much, so in the end I don't think it makes much of a difference unless you're dealing with sensitive/fragile corals. IMO the dip is more stressful to them than acclimating to the new tank water.

hey bro! freshwater guy here switching to saltwater. had my 40g on a cycle right now. no sump no skimmer, filtration overkill, no fish no coral, live sand liverock. water parameters are fine for now. though had issue with the low ph and mag. im leaving it on a cycle for 4 to 6 weeks as im going for vacation. can u make a video on what are sps lps soft coral hard coral.. etc like that? hope to hear from you soon. i like your videos-
