They LOST their Grittiness when They FIRED Dave. Dave gave them a MESSY-LIVE feel that’s difficult to capture in The Studio. Dave was able to do it. The Rolling Stones did it with Sticky Fingers & Exile on Main Street, & Pearl Jam did it with VS & Vitalogy. It’s all about The Drumming.

One of my biggest regrets is not getting to see them in concert. Who knows if or when that'll be a thing again. I've loved them since I was probably 13 or so and really getting a chance to explore music on my own for the first time. Hearing Ten for the first time was everything to me. I maybe couldn't understand fully everything I was listening to, but I could *feel* it. They hold a special place in my heart, if not actually making up a part of that heart itself with their music and lyrics... which is probably why I found myself here now. Comfort in trying times.
