Nice review REAL! Definitely my favorite kite in the CORE lineup for its ability to do everything at a high level. 🙌

@Matt, great review as always - we are lucky to have you. Quick question: Here in Ontario, CA big kites are a must. That said, have you guys considered making a review for 15m kites and up and compare them ( Nexus vs GTS vs XR )? That would be an epic review in my opinion. Looking at the search queries - many ppl are looking for an answer but no one cares to review LW kites. Much love from Toronto.

Tuncher, that's a good idea! We have a busy video schedule most of the time but we will try and squeeze in filming for this on a light wind day. Cheers

I totally agree with you. Same in Montreal. From my experience, I would leave the GTS 15m out of the équation. From previous versions that I owned, the big GTS, has a fairly narrow wind range. Does not get a heavy guy out that early and you feel pretty lit quite fast. Explosive power delivery. I owned the 15 XR, much better at the lowend but will have a hard time staying in the sky at its very lowend., heavier kite. Nexus 2, 13.5m with 10m extension, whatch out this is looong, and I could kite when other folks were foiling in 17 and 21m FS. So for my quiver I chose 13.5, 10 and 7m, I am keeping my XR7 11m as a one kite quiver to bring with the split board in case. If I need more than what the 13.5 can give me I will buy a proper torquy big kite like a Turbine for a few hundreds bucks. I would like to see a review of the 15m Nexus3.

I've been kiting a few years. Loved my duotone evos and then went to the sls version and found them too aggressive. I'm selling them and I'm torn between the nexus and the f-one bandits. I tt, kitefoil and now trying to learn a surfboard. In saying that I know I will love the xr8 but I know they aren't good for drift when foiling or surfing. As a compromise I'm thinking getting a nexus 12 and 9 with and xr8 7m. It's really gusty where I live (Guernsey channel islands). I'd appreciate your input on what you think would be the best. I'm looking for something easier than the Evo SLS. So the options are. Fone bandit / core nexus / or split nexus xr8 mentioned above. All 12/9/7. Thanks so much.

Our coach, Austin, who is in this video rides for Core. He actually prefers his Nexus for foiling over his XLite, he says that while he doesn't get quite the low end of the Xlite, the Nexus also flies better for him across its whole wind window. That said, the XR8 in a 7m would be a ton of fun as well for when the wind picks up. It sounds like you've got the idea of what you want, just dialing in sizes. If you'd like to email us more details about where you ride, common wind conditions, what you're looking for from your quiver, height & weight, and any helpful info to REALPro@realwatersports.com, our team of pros can assist you. Our sales manager Randall also rides a ton of Core, so feel free to ask for him.

How would you compare the nexus to the Duotone Evo?

Hi I ride XR's with my twin tip (have a 9m and a 11m) and now I am starting foiling. Once XR's are not ideal for foiling I am looking to have at least one foil kite, note sure if I go for a Nexus or a Xlite and whats is the best size for winds from 8 to 20 knots is a 8 m too small ?

If your looking to foil in the extreme low wind conditions I would go xlite over the nexus 3 it’s much lighter and performs better in very light conditions. That being said for someone in the 160 pound range a 10m xlite is going to work well in 10-16mph range. Go bigger size if you are heavier or want to go in lighter wind then 10mph go smaller if you are lighter or want to go in more than 16mph of wind. Cheers.
