He's a really entertaining personality, but he's not actually a commander player at all, and I'm not sure about the logistics of trying to convert him into one. All the Magic content with him kind of looks like this one here - either limited or something resembling 60 card constructed standard. So handling him a 100 card singleton deck full of weird cards that he's never even seen before and going "Here you go bud, now go make funny jokes on camera!" is probably not going to make for a well blending episode even with extensive post editing. Given that, I'd rather pass on Day9, unless he's playing commander, which is what I come to this channel for in the first place.

Ernie Spratt I think you misjudge the knowledge of day9 when it comes to MTG. He's been playing it for a loooooong while. Even took part in tournaments as a teenager.

E2O10 It's possible, sure. Peronally, I've been involved with magic for a long time, quit, then came back after a while, but only recently discovered Commander, which is what I predominantly play these days. Just based off my personal observations of commander as a format and of Day9, it does seem unlikely that the randomly happens to be into it, considering that commander is a _very_ peculiar format in comparison to all the others. But I'm open to the idea. Which in turn only compounds my frustration over not seeing the suggested _Day9 commander Game Knights_ and instead getting the standard Day9 package that we've already seen numerous times at Spellslingers.

It might have been recorded before Battlebond was released. There are graphics and great editing in this video, which implies it was recorded some time ago. EDIT: Looking at the date of release, Sean would have been prepping for the E3 PC Show (thus unlikely to be available), hosted that show at E3, and likely spent the time after making content for his own audience. So it's highly unlikely this episode was recorded in June.

At least for Sean, I have never heard him once talk about Commander, but I do know the boy loves Limited and Sealed. Anyway, I love the Commander content, I love the Non Commander content. And I think right now, given Core Set hasn't been properly released, 2HG or even just plain multiplayer sealed is better to showcase the product than commander or brawl. Also I, for one, would like Jimmy and Josh to try out EVERY mtg format in Game Knights, so no complains from me if they stop doing commander for a while ;)

It’s justified dude. They missed the set focused on two headed giant and with the new NEW ELDER DRAGON LEGENDS they don’t play commander. I love all their content but it just doesn’t make sense you feel? Like it feels like this was just to promote the new set (which would be good if they used the BIG AWESOME DRAGONS). But cmon give people more credit I think the dislikes are coming from the fact that the game was a huge squash not the format :)

Geez, didn't realize there were a bunch of whiny babies in the comments. Even if you are also a Patreon supporter, as I am, we aren't paying the bills entirely for them to make content. They have a small staff and are only human. Not easy to turn out such quality. Just be glad that they consistently churn out enjoyable content! Personally LOVED this episode. I don't play 2HG, but it was a 'quick' game that introduced me to two people I have never heard of. This channel has grown more than simply posting games for views - it's to help expand the community, and boy are they succeeding in strides. Keep up the awesome work CZC!

Command Zone should totally do an episode of Game Knights in 360 angle. That way people can focus on who they want to focus on. Also, a small suggestion for the attacking, blocking, token making, and card showing pop-ups. Maybe just put them to the side or bottom of the screen, as to just have it be out of the way of the camera view of the table? Cause sometimes I don’t want to have the whole screen be taken up by a card and a blank background.

It was a nice little episode, looked like everyone had fun with it. Maybe I'm wrong (and it ultimately didn't matter given the 8/10 trample would've been lethal) but I feel like it would've been the smarter play on the recast of Heiromancer's Cage to let Tezzeret stay and exile the enchantment that was locking the 6/6 out. They'd have gained another blocker, and a 1/1 thopter wouldn't have done anything the turn it came in, and the last thing Jimmy would've wanted to do was draw a card or two, unless he was fairly sure it'd win the game.

I enjoyed the episode and the presence of Day9 (and Ashly also). There was some genuine uncertainty and tension late in the game. That said, I was kinda surprised that you chose to do 2HG for the Core Set with Battlebond still pretty fresh. Game Knights Battlebond would've been pretty cool.
