Corgi restoration Mercedes Benz 600 Pullman No. 247. Toy, molded model.

In 1965, the Mercedes 600 Pullman appeared in the Corgi catalog. Meetoy was the first to use movable windshield wipers on a die-cast model. In addition, the side windows in the Mercedes were lowered manually. My model had a broken windshield. It was rough and in this way it imitated rain. I leveled the scratch by inserting the wet glass in the liquid for plastic regeneration into the vacuum chamber. The vacuum caused the fluid to penetrate the crack instead of air, and the crack was less visible. I made new black-dyed polyurethane tires and a box based on photos from the internet. In the 70s There used to be Matchbox - Lesney Product toy model cars, trucks bus etc. from England. I lost most of the models including Golden colour Mercedes Benz model in my childhood days. I regret losing such valuable treasures. From Mumbai, India.

I actually had this exact Mercedes Pullman when I was young. I remember the how the rear windows could down and how you could have the windshield wipers on or off as it rolled. One of my favorite among my huge Corgi collection. So wild to see this vid on it.

Sehr schönes Modell, von Corgi kannte ich es noch gar nicht, nur von Siku. Die Scheibenwischer sind ja extravagant! Sehr schön restauriert, wobei mir die Farbe nicht gefällt, ich hätte auf Originalität verzichtet und den natürlich schwarz geduscht 😜👍👍👍

One has to assume with your expertise with these Corgis, you have developed some short cuts. There must be some standards in production years such as wheel and tire size. On down time before the next restoration, you could make some spare tires. Then you just have to go down to "Paul's Restoration Tire Shop" and pick some up 😉

Had this one as a boy. Long gone, replaced in adulthood. Even then as now, never liked the "raindrop" effect, so ground it to clear. Was tempted to file the arc from the wipers to make them look more authentic.
