I have a large tropical bioactive (60 gallons) for my red-tailed boa, who is still quite young and small. I have isopods and springtails in there, but could I also safely add other insects/arthropods? I'm an entomology student and love the idea of having a vibrant ecosystem with lots of lovely bugs running around. Do you think I could introduce worms, millipedes, etc without screwing up my plants or substrate? I'm particularly interested in exotic cockroaches from similar habitats, as I have wanted some for a long time but am hesitant to have an entire separate terrarium for an animal that spends 90% of the time hiding in leaf litter. Any advice is appreciated!

His Terra Firma doesn't need it which is what he is using. The reason it doesn't need it is because it aerates from top to bottom generating air pockets and humidity pockets. It also stays dry at the top but moist in the middle and bottom layers.

I agree green anoles are underrated. and I honestly didnt realize that until I got my Mangrove Snake who has only been willing to eat...lizards lol. So i have been buying tones of anoles to keep around for feeding while I work on getting him on other things. I have practically fallen in love with all these little lizards I have to feed to my snake lol! But good news is I DID kill one so I could soak it with a few rats pups and then put that anole under the rat pups and left it to see if I could start tricking my mangrove into eating rats and IT WORKED! Next feeding I will try to just soak the rats with the anole and put them in alone! If I can get him to eat just the anole soaked rats with out the anole actually being there then that will be fantastic progress and I may just be able to save some of these anoles as pets instead of food ROFL. @@GaryAlanCohen so what you're saying is that in nature animals live in isolation in small tanks?..... fact is you don't have a clue about nature. So wind your neck in - no one is asking you do a tank, and nor would they, you clearly don't have a clue about animals. @@GaryAlanCohen the warning was very loud and clear - do not try this unless you have a lot of experience with reptiles, plus many times repeating how to go about it if you do do it. The point is people are going to do it anyway, so better they learn how and raise awareness for that, than have the ignorant go off and do stupid things - and they really do A LOT of stupid things. So now there is some information that will put many people off doing it, and those that are not put off will think a lot more carefully about consiquences and how they can avoid them. What you should never do is shut down the discussion ever. And actually as more people do it, knowledge improves and people can make better informed decisions and get proper advise.... in 1000 years time - who knows - it may be like cats and dogs being besties... only it will be a viper and mouse....
