Learn how to crochet a Corner to Corner Granny Square with me! In this video I show you step by step how to crochet the C2C Granny Square (how to increase and decrease your corner to corner granny square) AND how to crochet a border for joining your squares into a blanket. C2C Granny Squares have a tendency to flare and not sit squarely HOWEVER a tiny tweak to the traditional method solves this issue and I will show you how to make beautifully SQUARE squares 😅

🔥 Frequently Asked Questions:
Do you have a left handed version of this video? If you are left handed, you can convert ANY video on KZbin yourself! Simply go to www.mirrorthevideo.com/ and follow the instructions to mirror flip any video to convert to left handed!
How much yarn will I need? This is a very tricky question to answer as there are so many variables! How much yarn you need will depend on which yarn you choose, the thickness of that yarn, your tension and how large you want your finished project to be. I suggest making a small sample first so you can gauge how much yarn you'll need. If making a crochet square, you can weigh your finished square to work out how much yarn it used!
How many squares do I need for a blanket? That all depends on the size of the square you are making and how big you want your finished blanket to be! I always advise making one square first then measuring the size of it. From there you can work out how many squares you will need to get the blanket size you want 😀
Do you have the written pattern? Yes! I have written patterns to accompany my video tutorials on my website here: www.hookedbyrobin.com The written pattern is generally released a week or so after the video tutorial to ensure there are no errors in the video itself and to make amendments in the written version if any are found. All the written patterns are FREE to access on my website
How can I print the pattern from your website? Do you have downloadable PDF's? Not at this time no. This may change in the future but for now, I only provide the written pattern directly on my website.
Can you remake this video so it is slower? If the video speed is too fast, you can slow it down! 😀 See this video on exactly how: • How to Adjust the Spee...
Why do you use American stitch terminology? I learnt using USA stitch terms, long before I even knew there was a difference between UK & US terminology! American terms are my "first language" so to speak. If you need a conversion chart, I have one here! www.hookedbyrobin.com/crochet...

another way to get a square corner on the last row. chain three, start the first double crochet in the cluster leave the loop on the hook, do the same for the second and third double crochets so you have 4 loops on the hook. pull through all four loops and draw the 3 double crochets together. end as usual with an extended double crochet. this gave me a square corner. i hope this helps.

Wow, what a wonderful tutorial! I can’t express how grateful I am to find a video with just a sensible human voice and no music 😊 I have real problems coping with human voice overlaid with irritating music. It makes me feel dizzy and nauseous, but more than that - it’s distracting and I find I don’t learn anything. With voice plus music, I turn the sound off, but then miss the teaching part. If I have the sound on, I’m left feeling unwell and can’t face trying to do anything! 😢 I know many people feel the same, and for those of us who are housebound, partially disabled or whatever, this is a brilliant channel. Miss Robin!! I'm putting on a black border now of my blanket. I went crazy and used an entire skein (440m) of yarn for the width, then worked another back to the opposite corner. It's 46x46 granny stitches! This is my fourth project completed, and you make it so easy!! Thank you so much❤❤

@@modavis8304 I saw a couple that were close to this but they weren't on sale. I ended up getting Craft Smart Ombre Color VM138 that worked up beautifully (and was on sale at Michaels).

That’s pretty cool!! I have been doing a more “traditional “ c2c and at first was wondering why the stern wouldn’t work that way, but this is a whole different way of c2c. I’ll have to try this out! BTW 💜💜💜💜that color of yarn ! You always have such beautiful yarns for your tutorials. 😊

@@HookedbyRobin Oh wow, and there was me thinking it was cygnet boho spirit lol. This is beautiful too, I love love LOVE variegated wool. I'm always looking for something that can have a stained glass look, so the rainbow wool with the black border really called to me. In all honesty something about granny squares end up looking wrong to me, (and I just figured I was making them wrong somehow) I guess that's what you meant when you said that without the extended double crochet the sides tend to pull. I usually gravitate to more patterned squares (that end up being more time consuming) rather than doing the base stitch but after seeing this I am definitely going to try again. It's amazing that it's such a simple fix. Thank you 🖤💜
