“Turn the mountains up” was the phrase that did it for me! First time I ever saw one of your tutorials, you used a needles to indicate chains, and I was sold on your teaching style. Thanks for this!

I am so excited yet a bit nervous about C2C. I’m watching the entire tutorial before my first attempt. I haven’t been crocheting long so C2C is new for me but old school for those who have crocheted for years. I love the look of this pattern as well as your drunken granny stitch pattern. I will be doing that one next! Thank you for your tutorial Christa! 😘
@theastewart67216 жыл бұрын
Very clear and concise instruction! I especially like that you go into 2 loops of the chain instead of only 1. I was taught as a child in the late 60’s and that’s how we were taught. My teacher, who is the same age as I am also learned to go into both loops. It seems that nowadays most people go into only 1 loop. I know it doesn’t really matter but it’s nice to see someone doing it the same way lol. I will say that learning Tunisian I go into the back bump because that is how I was taught, but it’s something that I never thought I’d do! Thanks for sharing this great tutorial!
@SecretYarnery6 жыл бұрын
Oh thanks, Thea! Yes - going into 2 loops makes the stitches match better for the C2C pattern for sure! The younger (than us!) crocheters are taught to go into one loop these days! Who knows. ;) xx!!
@theastewart67216 жыл бұрын
Your most welcome! I found your instruction very easy to follow. I’ve been wanting to do the c2c for quite some time but between my knitting and crochet projects that I’ve got going I’ve held back. Not to mention work! And then I saw your CAL and I like the way and the pace you are doing it. I can’t wait to make my first triangle tomorrow! Or technically later today as it is 3 am in Massachusetts USA! Nite!😀
@firey36786 жыл бұрын
I'm like you Thea regarding the 2 loops, to me 1 loop is just messy, and it is the same with slip stitching into the top of a stitch using only one loop, pulls the work out of shape I find.
@theastewart67216 жыл бұрын
I agree Firey367! That top of the third chain can be a real pain at times but I do get the 2 loops as well. 😀

I made a good start on a baby blanket. I have never done a c2c but I am an experienced crocher. I gennerally make mine kiddos blankets 42 x 48/50 so they can be used into toddler years. I ama striping 2 colors and I am about half way. Its lovely but it does use a lot of yarn. I bought 2 skeins of 200g accent soft teal tweed color and 2 more of 280g skeins of coordinating heather gray all bulky 5 weight. I was hoping I'd have extra yarn for shoes and a hat but I am not sure. I may have to just do the square to be sure I have bits left forbthe extras.... your directions were easy to follow. thsnks

@melissatucker6861 Жыл бұрын
I am a totally blind crocheter, and your KZbin video has the best audio description that I have found from making a corner to corner, crochet blanket. I do have one question though. Which block do you change your color with? I have been crocheting for years, and have just recently learned the corner to corner style, but I can’t figure out the best place in my blanket to change colors . Can you describethat to me?
@SecretYarnery Жыл бұрын
Hi, @melissatucker6861!! That's awesome! YES! Absolutely. Change color at the end of a row - before you make the chain for the new block. That chain should be the new color. The easiest way to do that is to finish your last double crochet of the last block of the row with the new color yarn.... so when you have two loops of that last stitch left on your hook, grab a loop of you new color and finish the stich with the new color. I hope that helps? HUGS! 🌻🌺🌼
