Every Christian should have his collection of music: The John Michael Talbot Collection: A Library Of 35 Favorite Songs. Men. you will love it. For the past 5 years, I have bought it for Christmas gift, even for my Priest friends. The man is a Saint now and will be in afterlife.

I saw him in the mid' 1980's at the Civic Center in Southfield, Michigan. So blessed and so anointed. And nuns and priests with laity worshipping God.

Hallelujah, what a blessing that MORE THAN A SONG did a segment on this humble and gifted man, John Michael Talbot. It's easy to get swept away by modern technology - lights, electronic instruments, effects, etc. - but there is an authenticity to this man's voice and music that just can't be reproduced. Thank you.

What I find interesting during the interview, is how -- like most interviewers -- it begins by trying to get JM to talk about himself and his musical prowess. And as soon as he can get through that, he changes it right around to be about Christ. He's been doing this for over 40 years, so more power to him!

Wow, CornerStone TN, I'm just seeing this now in 2019 and you published it in 2016. I had two of JMT's vinyl albums before I shared them by contributing them to my local library. I loved those old songs\hymns that he did. Sadly I was told to destroy those albums by the elders of the church I was attending at the time but I just couldn't do that. That's why I decided to donate them to the library. I didn't tell them at church that I did that because I would have been rebuked and shunned until I could prove that I was sorry and that I wouldn't purchase anymore of his or any one else's Christian music albums. I would have needed to repent before they would allow me to associate with them again even while having to attend all the service meetings. They made it hard to leave their church as they said I was leaving Jehovah. Then they would surely have to disassociate me because of that. The good news is I did leave to go to a Christian evangelical church where I did learn that Jesus is the way and the truth and to follow HIM closely. So I found JMT's web page site and again started to listen to him sing and play the guitar and it meant more to me then as it did before I got caught and brainwashed in that former church I mentioned. Hallelujah! Now listening to JMT's music, especially the old songs over & over again is keeping me faithful to Jesus and encouraging me to keep on with my journey with Him. Things are getting harder because more churches are competing with each other, fighting amongst the different sects & denominations, that I do not have any particular church that I attend regularly except the one's that have their services online. But then again JMT's music helps keep me on the road to heaven. One of the songs JMT sings and I listen to when I get weary of the world overwhelming me is Psalm 131-Come to the quiet. All those old songs with lyrics from the Psalms are great. In my searching on the internet I'm so glad I came across JMT's site and away from that strict church into the freedom that Jesus Christ offers and gives!

I dont think the Catholic church is an abomination. I am a charismatic chrisitian and have been to many churches in my life. I now go to a non denomination church of Christ. One day all of these "walls" that separate us all in the name of religion wont exist and we will have to love each other. Its all about a relationship with Jesus. Its about personal and corporate worship. I dont agree with some of the Catholic teachings and I have studied the Bible through for myself. I dont agree with some of the things the congregation I go to teaches. An old pastor of mine use to say you have to eat the meat and throw the bones over your shoulders. Well the meat is Gods word and the bones are the "little" things that dont really matter to God but we make a big deal out of. I use to go to full gospel churches and man some of them tried to cast demons out of me because I was severely depressed, bipolar, hearing voices. It never worked because I wasnt demon possessed - I needed to be loved and first and foremost know Gods love for me down deep in my heart. I also needed good medical intervention. Now I do realize at least to some extent - how much God loves me. I have had through this deliverance from depression. The church I go to loves me and it is a great comfort to me to experience that so deeply. No church is perfect and there are hypocrites in every one However if theres a hypocrite between you and God , hes closer to God than you are. Anyway, John Michael I love your worship music and have followed your music and your teaching for a long time. I worship at home alone. I have a guitar and a piano and I like to play your music a lot. My favorite songs are St Francis prayer and My beloved. I use to play piano for a full gospel church but there was so much strife on the worship team and such big egos and people clamouring for position - and I was guilty too - it lost all meaning to me. The church I now attend does not believe in playing instruments in worship. I cant be on their worship team cause they dont have one. I dont agree with this really but for right now, Im just trying to make my life simple and grow more in the Lord. I get more enjoyment playing my music at home for the Lord and for my family. I have been very sick the last year and have had a lot of physical pain. I know it sounds nuts, but I thank God for making something beautiful from my life through that pain. I am pretty much well now. I do like to go to the nursing home when Im able and play guitar and sing for them its needed. I think you are doing a good work and I have been praying for you and your parish. God bless.

Yes, karen hicks, It's all about Jesus Christ not church rules like the Pharisees & Sadducee's use to place on the people in Jesus' day. The different sects & denominations seem to still do this to this very day. We just need to find Jesus Christ in all of it. The Apostles taught(preached) Jesus Christ, the way and the Truth to all the gathered people in the square and private home gatherings which were called churches in that day.

Marin, you condemn christianity when you condemn Catholicism. Far from being a harlot, she, unlike other Chrisisn sects who have broken off from her branch, has faithfully held to the same doctrine since the beginning of her founder--Jesus Christ. You probably mean well, but speak from ignorance. Please be informed and read about the early church fathers. You will see that the same doctrines or what you likely see as "myths" are held today only in the Catholic Church. May God give you grace to honestly seek the truth without bias.
