Hi, I'm having this issue right now. The video is not really clear on how to remove and put back the cable. Did you have any difficulties on that? And also where did you purchase the latch? Many thanks :)

Thanks. Looks identical to a 2002 Corolla latch we have. The cable ball on ours has pulled through the slot and won't re-engage, so we'll be shopping for a new latch.

I Have An 04 And My Cable Came Off I Tried Opening The Latch From The inside of The Car and The Hood Only Popped up A little Bit! I Think The Cable Got Stretch Out And Came Off?.. got it fixed and it Works fine now.

What was wrong with it, I had my battery stolen and after replacing battery try to close the hood but it won’t lock. Do you think thief pull to hard on cable and stretched it or small spring needs replace?

Hi, to put the cable onto the new latch, why do you need the pry-bar? Also the links to the hood latch don't work anymore. Could you recommend where I could buy one? Thanks

No need to replace. Spraying WD40 onto the latch would fix the problem.
