This was the end of the "Golden Age" of Coronation Street. It started going downhill from here. I visited the street in 1990 - the scale was 2/3rds. The interiors were like the tardis - there's just no way the interior scenes matched the exteriors. The street set is one storey, used for lighting and costume stores with the occassional writers offices. At the viaduct end was a huge sound-stage where the interiors were filmed. Had a pint in the Rovers, it was tiny! They used wide angle lenses on the cameras to make the exteriors and interirors look bigger than they were. It wasn't perfect ~ many times the boom dropped into shot but in television history, it's truly remarkable. 📺🇦🇺♥️✨️
