Hi, I’m Patrick. I’m a freelance science writer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training and a master’s in clinical exercise physiology. I used to work in the clinical setting as a certified athletic trainer, physical therapy aide, and a certified strength and conditioning specialist. After working in the clinical setting, I went back to school and became a teacher. The goal of my content is to help normal people, not just pre-med students, learn about the human body. That might mean explaining a topic from an anatomy class or exploring a topic from medical history.

This is exactly how I memorized muscles. The names always tell you some thing about the muscles. They are named by one of the following: * attachments (Sternocleidomastoid) * action (flexor/extensor) * size (major/minor) * shape (Deltoid/Trapezius) * location (brachii/femoris) *number of heads (Biceps/Triceps) * direction of fibers (oblique/rectus/transversus)

This teaching method only works if the teacher is master in that. Still I not started our studies of fore arms But I seen this full videos . Interesting thing in this video is :- he not only explaining origin, insertion of muscle. He also explain the name of muscle like why this muscle is known by this name...

These old vids of urs are a great great help! Thanku so much, Patrick...though u're practically a stranger, u feel like a friend helping me through the ..what i can only call boy-howdy!-mess anat(or practically, med schl) is. Only here cause I saw a video about prosthetic arms and I was really curious about the interaction of muscles with each other and how well modern prosthetics are getting at giving someone a functional hand or arm. Imagine just one lifetime ago telling someone that we'd create prosthetic arms that can move each finger individually with precise controlled movements AND that the user could feel the pressure in the prosthetics using pressure sensors in the fingers and vibrations on the users arm. Seriously incredible stuff!

I'm not a med student at all but quite interested in anatomy and try to figure out muscles and dynamics of the body but for sure for a person that has no idea it's very very hard. So your video is very teaching and helpful. For people like me, it would be great if we can see the movements and real locations as well. But this is fascinating as well! Thank you!

I have no idea how I got here but you're saving my life. I graduated from a massage therapy school in 2019 but didn't liscenced myself. I can practice in California and maybe 3 other states but the rest of the states require the Mblex test for licensure. I want to be a Liscenced Massage Therapist, not just a certified one. You can image that after 5 years and 2 without practice (covid) I've lost some of this knowledge.
