Recent interviews have revealed; - The redesign was headed by a fan artist, turned official animation director, Tyson Hesse. A well known name in the Sonic fan community for his fanart, time spent working on the official Sonic Comic series, and his work creating and directing 2D animations for the official Sonic social media team (See Sonic Mania's opening cutscene which was created almost entirely by himself, as well as his work as a director for 'Sonic Mania Adventures', and 'Team Sonic Racing Overdrive') - Most of the animation was redone, however some things were able to be salvaged and worked onto the new model. - The original movie design was indeed pressured by the studio, who knew fans wouldn't like it. However they assumed that people would come to accept it. No surprise. - The delay came after a meeting was held with Sega. - They started the redesign from the head, and worked down. - It took them 5 months to get to this point, with little to no real crunch time. - It's reported to have only cost them 5 mil to do. Give or take. So the movie's budget wasn't impacted a whole lot. So tl;dr, it was a pretty smooth process, not a lot of stress. And with a very trustworthy name spearheading the redesign.

I'm so glad they fixed the color of his eyes-I mean I actually wasn't too bothered by the teal blue before, but the biggest thing about Sonic's look ARE his eyes and that's because they contrast against his blue fur and peach skin. Everything about Sonic color wise is so well thought out-from the red Michael Jackson inspired shoes, to his white gloves, emerald green eyes and blue fur. He's blue because his creators say it's a peaceful color which is kind of both fitting and ironic for Sonic-he's very energetic but kind, calm and friendly when needed. Everything about his design is just perfect. And they never needed to mess with that at all. So, Paramount as the client of the MULTIPLE VFX teams that worked on Sonic, they didn't HAVE to go back and ask those companies to fix it, but they did and I gotta give them props for that. Now Sonic FEELS and LOOKS like Sonic.

Previous month I was able to gather my first five figure check ever!!! I've been working for this company over the web for twenty four months now and I never been happier... They are paying me $95 per hour, and the most important thing about that is the fact I am not really that tech-savvy, they just asked for basic understanding of internet and basic typing skill...Great thing about it is the more free time I got with my family. I am in a position to enjoy quality time with my friends and family and take care of my children and also going on holiday break along with them very consistently. Don't ignore this opportunity and make sure to react quickly. Here is what I do *worth48.com*

I dont think they recreated him. I think it was a pretty great PR - Stunt. I mean how much attention did the first trailer get, just because sonic looked so awful? And we really didnt get to see many scenes with him at first.
@mkohanek5 жыл бұрын
@@nodus2268 I also think that is what happened. That is the only way to explain how bad that original Sonic looked, they must have been going for uncanny valley to get the press with the full intention of remaking him
@gloriouslyaesthetic5 жыл бұрын
@@nodus2268 do you realize how expensive and time consuming that would be on their part though?
@milky2435 жыл бұрын
Nodus I mean it probably wasn’t, but because the cgi was only done for the trailer clips at the time they would’ve had that time frame to change it anyway regardless, as they would just have to fix the scenes they did. although, the character skeleton would have to have been redone completely, so I believe that the team got a few extra people (tyson hesse) to help while they worked their asses off.

The studio forsure saw the 1st reaction video and they took lessons. Even if the sonic movie is crappy, I hope it's fun, entertaining, funny, and a decent game adaptation. I think we all should watch the movie to support the studio for making this change. But also for the studio, please make a sonic movie with realistic 3D animation like how we see in the opening trailer. Loved that look
