It’s simple.. Gabe uploads, I click. Classic Gabe adventures right here (along with the last video).. we love when you rent a car and explore, its really worth it from a viewer standpoint. I swear the YT algorithm doesn’t do it’s job fully. How is it that Gabe has 528k subs and doesn’t get minimum 30k views on all his videos? I know that some videos (based on title the thumbnail alone) are naturally less appealing than others, but I’m also convinced that YT doesn’t show the videos to all your subs . I understand the pain. Keep grinding and keep exploring bro! 😎

Elliot, Big fan of Gabe here but is there any evidence that YT is somehow holding Gabriel Traveller back?
@AdventureElliot
@AdventureElliot 2 жыл бұрын
@@stevenlapidus2902 well, I remember seeing Gabe have videos with hundreds of thousands of views before quite frequently.. and this was before he was over 500k subs. I think over the course of a KZbin career many channels accumulate “dead subscribers” meaning people sub to a channel for a certain video but don’t continue watching the other videos .. this kills the click through rate and therefore stops promoting videos to new people (even if the video is high quality). It’s one of the most frustrating things as a content creator. You can spend hours on a video for hardly anyone to view it.. Then you can make other videos that take little effort and they go completely viral.. sometimes it feels all to random, even though it’s not. Gabe consistently deserves more views.. he’s the definition of consistency and high quality and staying true to himself. He doesn’t cheat, he doesn’t make click bait, and he doesn’t sell out like many famous KZbinrs. At the end of the day, it’s pretty scary that you can work so hard and that your financial welfare depends on a computer generated automated algorithm.
@InfamousCrimeLocations

@@AdventureElliot You definitely are spot on Elliot. I think another part of it is if people don't click the bell (or even if they do sometimes), your subscribers may not get notified. I have 92k subs and only about 12k have clicked the bell so I tend to keep not getting the views that I should be. It is a frustrating thing for us youtubers.

Ultimate adventure will be when you get to Corte and hike up near 7500-8500 ft into one of the crystal clear granite alpine lakes
@AdventureElliot
@AdventureElliot 2 жыл бұрын
@@InfamousCrimeLocations What happens is that if you don't watch a video of a certain creator, YT stops showing you all togethe.. YT Shows you based on watch history. Now that I've watched Gabe's video on Corsica, YT thinks I love Corsica, but the thing is I don't watch Corsica for Corsica, I watch it for Gabe. Anways, subscribers aren't that important anymore. Most youtubers only get a small % of viewship from their subs, most are unsubbed.. And the virality of a video totally depends on the existing audience. If a video starts out very hot, it might go viral.. If it's a great video but doesn't have a high Click Through Rate, then it might die off right away, which is a shame, because sometimes you never know how good a video is without watching it. That's why some Ytbers are criminally underrated and others are overrated. Some use clickbait every video for this reason because they understand how the algorithm works and you have to bait people to clicking, giving you a higher CTR.

Corsica, a mountainous Mediterranean island, presents a mix of stylish coastal towns, dense forest and craggy peaks (Monte Cinto is the highest). Nearly half the island falls within a park whose hiking trails include the challenging GR 20. Its beaches range from busy Pietracorbara to remote Saleccia and Rondinara.

Corsica is a protected island where it's forbidden to built big hotels for massive tourists like in Balears. In Corsica the word "Balearisation" means marinas, villas and hotels for tourists along the coasts like in Balears, and this is strictly prohibited. In western Europe Corsica is the last place to find wild sandy beachs like in the 19th century. Corsicans don't like or need massive tourism.

Hi Gabriel, That was an amazing hike through those mountain towns you saw a great deal of the island itself. If you had taken the bus or train it may have taken way longer to do and you get to stop and look around at things you may not have access to. I notice on many of these Islands have an incredible fortress embedded in the island within the surrounding town protecting their citizens an incredible feat of engineering.

Hey Gabriel, that church you walked around just before 11:00 on the video had Doric columns so I would say it was as old as the late Roman Empire or built much later to resemble the Doric era. I am enjoying this series. I love this area because there is so much history preserved for us to see. You can actually walk down roads that the Roman troops walked down.

I don't know many things about Sardinia, but if you are considering your path back to the Italian boot (to catch a ferry from Bastia to La Spezia or Livorno or. port like this), I can very well recommend visiting Italian Ligurian Coast with Cinque Terre and Portovenere - in my opinion, this part of Mediterrranean is even more picturesque and amazing than Cote d'Azur and along the Cinque Terre five villages, there are very interesting hiking paths (you are along the sea but it feels like in the mountains because costal area rises very fast in elevation, is steepy in many parts). Near to Cinque Terre, it is a town named Carrara where amazing marble is obtained and was used for many art sculptures throught renaissance and beyond. After Cinque Terre, it is a possibility to take a path to your new country San Marino (which is, in my opinion, one of the best Italian hilltowns overall), then southeast to Bari (near to this town, there are Matera and Alberobello, iconic sights), after that maybe amazing Amalfi Coast near Naples (especially village of Positano is well known) and after that amazing Sicily with incredible volcano - Mt. Etna. This volcano is like 3,357 m high and there are tours and hiking paths to the top. Sicily is also home to some amazing historic Greek building in Taormina, Syracuse, Segesta etc. From Sicily, there are surely easy connections to Malta and Tunisia as I know that you are also considering Tunisia. Have a nice trip.

Great travel video. I enjoy seeing you poking about and exploring places. Just like I would do. Great time of year to travel Corsica. Deffo wouldn’t want to be there August. Probably full of Parisians. Lots of French anyway. Not that there is anything wrong with that just so many people which I’m not sure you would like. Corsica looks a must. I’m already planning a future drive from uk down France and taking the boat to Corsica and onwards to Sardinia. What you show me of Corsica towns reminds me of some towns in France I was in 1982. I hope the tyrants allow us to travel again. I still very much have my doubts to be honest. I suspect they have a few more surprises like the tyrants in Canada on ordinary people. I fear travel in the future will be for elites and party members in their private jets. Hopefully tyrants like the one in Canada will be in jail soon and we will be able to live in freedom again. Here’s hoping. 👍🇨🇦👍🇨🇦 Corsica looks good. Looking forward to next video. Greetings from Northern Ireland 👍🇬🇧👍

As others have said here, I never thought of Corsica as a travel destination. You've happily changed my mind! I'm spending the month of May on Crete and was wondering what your experience was with Internet connectivity there. You use 'tethering' from your SmartPhone I see - what's your data plan? Can you get by with 10GB a month or are you a super-user because of all your uploading? Just curious. Thanks.
@GabrielTravelerVideos

I think I have unlimited data, the problem is the speeds that I'm getting internationally are super slow so it barely works for the basics of checking email, etc. and is useless for uploading. Mostly I rely on the wifi at hotels which is extremely variable and usually very slow throughout Greece.

Hey Gabe, and whoever else has visited both islands, would you recommend Corsica over Menorca? Is one more interesting then the other? I know one island is in the Balearic Sea and the other the Ligurian, but they seem at least somewhat similar.

Really tough to say, they're both gorgeous with a lot to explore. You can't go wrong with either one.
