I haven’t weigh it properly, but I’m guessing 3.5KG/ 7.7lbs-ish. For a headless, it isn’t super light. But lighter than my P basses.

Is there a proper actuve/passive switch. ie will it work without the battery?

Yes, you can pull the volume to switch to passive mode. It works fine without battery. The good thing about the passive mode is there's no noticeable drop in the output.
