Amazing! I spent all day yesterday going crazy trying to build a compact multiple item sorter like this using dispensors (and being told by my friends who hadn't studied computer science that it was impossible/minecraft can't do that >.< ). While I had figured out the 'logic' of how to make it using copper bulbs/dispensors and sensing if a hopper was empty or not I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to get the minecraft parts to hook up correctly! I stumbled on your video and really appreciate how clear the tutorial was - though one tip is to use Barrels for the sorted item chests - it's less laggy for servers and looks neater - plus you can use the gaps in between the rows for item frames/decorations. To fix the problem of items getting stuck in the hoppers is a simple fix - just add the items to the chest from the most rare/valuable first - then place some low value/junk items in the last sorted chest (eg use it for cobblestone/rotten flesh/dirt). That way you never need to worry about the items stuck in the hoppers. :) I also love how easy this design will be to hook up to autocrafters/smelters etc... the skies the limit!

@admchin15 күн бұрын
To get it working in bedrock, the repeater needs to be set to 3 ticks. Also, the dropper elevator is not powered. You can fix this various ways. I ended up moving the torch tower behind the copper bulbs and used observers for the elevator. I have another torch coming off the base of the clock which powers a light bulb with an observer tower going up. The bottom observer needs to strongly power the second dropper so i have two observers on the row. Still very compact, silent, and dustless.

This is absolutely amazing and genius! Thanks for sharing. This storage system makes me wanna play minecraft again. One idea to fix the problem with items left behind in the system is to send some “flush” items after all the items have been inputted into the sorter. These flush items will not have any slot in the sorter, and end up in the unsorted last chest. The trick is to send N flush items, where N = height of the droppers. This way, the flush items will always trigger the droppers in the adjacent column, and push itself across all the columns. It would be cool to automate this so when ur items are done being inputted, the flush items automatically get inputted, and recycled.
@ether421112 күн бұрын
I'm building this at the moment on a survival server and plan to add a bit of extra redstone to dispense a stack of junk items (in my case Rotten Flesh) into the starting chest once it empties out - that way the hoppers get flushed out after every run. You just need to make your 'cleaning' item the last filtered chest and a series of hoppers to send it back to the start

I've just built this in my Bedrock (on Switch) world and at first it didn't work. This was due to Droppers not powering other droppers😢. I fixed this by adding solid blocks between the redstone torches powering the droppers and running a line of dust to the bottom dropper. Now it works great.

I really like the compactness. I think that another down side, other than the items getting stuck in it, is the low speed.
@blakewallace89253 ай бұрын
Another thing I should mention is even though it doesn’t leave any items in the droppers it will make one single item be in a different chest than the other ones but that doesn’t really affect anything because if you’re shorting things it’ll go to the junk chest and you can just put it though the system again and I’ll fix it,note the system is slower on bedrock edition
@Wortigon20003 ай бұрын
As I see, this is a compacted remagining of the same multi item sorting storage that TangoTek built many years ago, no? Well, a nice bonus is that this is way smaller albeit a bit slower, and this might get some items stuck in the system even with proper use.

@nousagi74372 күн бұрын

@Cortezerino23 күн бұрын
If the comparator is reading the items and the clock isn't running, it means your copper bulb is the problem. Place a button on it and press. This system does require you to 'flush' it if you want all the items to get processed.
