CORY HENRY & TRAVIS SAYLES - trade solos at the Village Underground

This was back in early 2013. Don't flame me for the sound quality, i tried to tweak it to make it listenable. The original was way worse (search "JUST A PRAYER AWAY A.K.A (CORY HENRY V.S. TRAVIS SAYLES) @ THE VU" to hear the original). Just try to enjoy the distorted kick like it's some hiphop music or whatever! :)

If you pay attention Cory basically played travis styles on organ on this solo, Cory vocab is wider I think just from listening.

No one wants to hear them except for bass players, as is obvious from the chat. Don't get me wrong, I love bass, but bass solos, not so much. The only reason my bass player gets a solo (only the one) is the fact i'm on a driving ban & he gives me a ride home after gigs, & he'd leave me on the side of the road if i didn't.. Soon as I get my license back, we're cutting that s**t out altogether.

Yes. Corey is a Prodigy. I say this respectfully though; he's longtime had a bad habit of using his volume pedal to keep tempo and a B3 player should never do that. Glenn Gibson, Quennel Gaskin & Joey DeFrancesco are the current B3 artists I study.
