So now I’m writing this down in my book. I really want to see a certified dark sky area. Light pollution is real. I see it where I live and I’m in the woods 😂. Just light from the town miles away. I really got excited with Dave said “lift and 4wd” 😂 because that’s exactly why I bought my camper 😊 I could definitely make it up there to the top. I’d love to see some amateur astronomers there and hopefully get a look at what they are seeing 👍🏼 I saw the concrete circles for setting up the telescopes. 🔭 That grill looks cool too. Especially since it folds flat. That’s a win. Great video 👍🏼

If you have time at some point, go see Valley of Fires near Carrizozo, New Mexico. To the south of Carrizozo is Three Rivers, which has awesome petroglyphs and a small campground. Thanks for the great video. We are a retired couple from Texas who travel about 60% of the time in our 24' Class C motorhome. It's great to see that ya'll are just as happy in New Mexico as you were in Newfoundland. It says so much about your character. We have plans to go to Newfoundland this summer if health issue doesn't hold us back.

New Mexico is super underrated. I'm glad it's that way... I don't see much of the vanlife/overland groups out there... (No offense) .. It's rarely rarely ever crowded anywhere. It's awesome. Nice shots on this one.

What absolutely incredible skies - day or night! One of my favourite things to do when visiting a new place/country is to try the sweets, and your friends brought their sweets to you. That was an impressive feat cooking such a huge turkey breast on that grill. It looked delicious. Thanks for sharing all your "advantures" with all of us. There's a camp ground right near the Gila cliff dwellings that was one of the most relaxing, back to nature weeks of my life! Great hot spring near Glenwood and Rock City, sp is beautiful too. I'm happy that you are enjoying this corner of NM, an area even my friends around Taos aren't too familiar with. Stay well!

Love this area! There is SO MUCH TO EXPLORE! One of my ALL TIME FAVORITES is the Gila hot springs! There is a free campground there but we paid to stay at the Gila Campground….. worth every penny. We did not make it to the Gila cliff dwellings but it we have heard it is also amazing! Happy travels

We had some friends tell us about Pie Town years ago, but haven't made it there yet. After seeing that epic pie, we'll definitely have to make it a point to go there! That Thanksgiving sunset was sure something to be grateful for, wow! That and the company of good friends ❤

Just missed you! I was south of Pie Town coming out of Dipping Vat campground on the 20th. Gila is one of my favorite places. Datil Well is another campground in the area with telescope pads. Out toward the Very Large Array. Thanksgiving dinner looked brilliant. Yum!

Those little disc shaped candies were popular when I was a kid. They used to be filled with little candy balls inside and sold for a penny each at our local penny candy store back in the 70's. That’s a great video idea. Very time consuming, but doable. I think we tend to shy away from these type of videos because the drone trolls tend to latch on them! We don’t talk about it because we don’t want to encourage the trolls….. but we’ve been turned into the FAA 3 times. Cleared all 3 times!

We probably will not ship our van but rent or buy a cheap van. We want to go to Iceland, Scotland and New Zealand. Still a few years out as probably won't go until our dog is no longer with us. I think it might be too hard for him.

@oneadVANtureatatime I am in Arizona. Dad was killed by a semi truck driver while we were in Montana in June. Plowed right over and through dad's minivan. He was on his way back to camp after going to the store while I watched the dogs at camp. The semi driver was "distracted" going at least 70 mph. Dad was stopped behind a car that was turning left. Driver ran into the back of him. 😪 Sad. Are you guys headed to the Quartzsite area?

Did you ever get the shaking in your van fixed? If so, what fixed it?

Nope! We are waiting for it to get bad enough to get it looked at or for storm trooper to tell us what’s wrong with an engine light. We are fairly certain it has something to do with the transmission. We are going to drive it until we can’t 😂😂😂 or until something changes. The vibrations are pretty minor and we feel safe driving it after having 3 mechanics look at it🤷‍♀️

@@oneadVANtureatatime think about giving it a simple tune up, new plugs, etc. My 2007 Honda Accord has a really bad shudder if you're gently accelerating at around 35 mph. Never above or below. It's been doing it for a while. A trusted mechanic says it just needs new plugs. Since you said your van needs new plugs anyway, give that a shot first. I've had a saying for years. "If you don't know what it is, you don't know what it ain't". LOL
