AWESOME job! Love the final product. It would be great if you could show us what it looks like loaded out in the two different configurations, (toy hauler, welding). Also, what is the floor made of? It looks great. If you made a video showing the floor installation I must have missed it. Maybe you could do a follow up video after you use the trailer for a while and comment on how things have worked out to that point. Also, things you might decide to add after some experience with it. Thanks for all of the how to tips and great ideas.
@BrandonLund
@BrandonLund Жыл бұрын
Thanks man and all great suggestions. I will be updating for sure. As for the floor I did it off camera just because my channel tends to suffer when I stray from welding videos for too long and I didn't want to turn off my viewers. The floor is commercial vinyl. It's. 115 mil thick and resists gas, oil and acid. Its made by husky.

That should definitely work! Looks very professionally done and it has accessories that you wanted. I thought you said at the beginning that you were going to put cabinets above the workbench? Those 3 cabinets you have, i too bought one at Christmas, wasn't crazy about putting it together though. I put my welding jacket shirt in there with my welding gloves and I also bought leather coverings for my shoes. My new Rew Wing boots were taking a beating from the splatter.
@BrandonLund
@BrandonLund Жыл бұрын
Thanks Jake. I was planning to do cabinets above, I still might but i'm not sure it's going to give me the depth of storage I was hoping for due to the slant top and V nose. I'm going to have to give it a little more thought, maybe even make a template to see how much room I could get.

Fantastic Job Brandon That sort of trailer here in Aus would cost as bare trailer close to AUD$20K (USD$ 13.5) ad how you have it set up an easy AUD$30K minimum (USD$20K) On the ramp are you going to put some slip resistant surface as that Diamond mat can be very slippery when wet.
@BrandonLund

Thanks man I appreciate it. Yes I'm dong the same thing on the ramp as on the floor except I'm doing it in a contrasting color / black inspead of the grey.

Very nice job on the trailer Brandon! It takes a lot of thought to have a project come together as well as you did it. Love the inside with the cabinets and storage ideas with the lighting and all. You really got a hell of a deal on the trailer. I was just looking at tires for my trailer yesterday so I will check those Hercules tires out before I buy because I was looking for the higher speed rating you have with yours. Good luck on your trip!
@BrandonLund
@BrandonLund Жыл бұрын
Thanks man! I did a lot of research on this too. The tires that were on it originally from the factory were C rated and had a speed rating of around 70 mph which that concerned me. I also researched the goodyears which are a great tire but they are an E tire so super stiff ride and they werent speed rated much more than the original C tires. These Hurcules are D rated, a little heavier duty than what came on it from the factory but they are the highest speed rating you can get (or that I found) in an trailer tire. These are N speed rated which I think is 87 mph. They are made in China but I have confidence in the lady that sold them to me. I will tell you more in about 9 days. I will have traveled about 3,000 miles on them and hopefully no problems. She compared them to the quality of Carlisle as I said in the video so we will see. I wasn't really concerned with price, but rather I wanted a really good tire that I could drive long distances without problems. I will report back soon.

@@BrandonLund It might cost a bit more than those you can get from places like Home Depot or Walmart, but consider looking up an online restaurant supply store. Those tend to cover a multitude of issues. Also, also consider getting a little squeeze bottle to serve as an eye wash (any basin will serve to collect water).

Awesome build. What shape are the wheel bearings in? If I you’re not sure I would think about servicing them before a 3000 mile trip.
@BrandonLund
@BrandonLund Жыл бұрын
Good call. That was my concern too. I pulled all 4 wheels and drums as soon as I got it just to be sure. It has a dexter axle and I read if you put too much grease in them it can blow out the back seal and get grease onto the brakes. For that reason I stripped everything, used brake clean, lubed the auto adjusters and repacked the bearings. Everything looked good but now I know for sure it's right and it's a relief for peace of mind.

Great build Brandon! What was the trailer brand and model you initially bought? I like the 16" on center walls and floors, not easy to find in todays crappy mass produced trailers.
@BrandonLund
@BrandonLund Жыл бұрын
Thanks man. It's made by a company called Neo. The model is NAVR. The thing that sold me was the round top slant roof. It's constructed of a one piece sheet while all the other trailers make their roofs flat. This trailer roof is arched so snow, rain and ice don't pool up and cause problems. They are super well built if your looking for a trailer it's hard to beat the quality.

Brandon your project is Awesome. Great job. I appreciate all the details you covered. Very helpful. Thanks I am interested in your wireless camera system. With everything closed up on the trailer does the signal ever dropout, or become noisy. I'm concerned in the aluminum box blocking the signal to the monitor. Thanks, Dan
@BrandonLund
@BrandonLund Жыл бұрын
@Daniel Rapoza not at all. I was concerned at first if the signal would broadcast though the inside of the trailer to get a crisp picture but it's not even a concern. It works flawless. I can drive up the road hundreds of feet and still see inside the trailer. It never flickers or gets jittery and the best part is that it's simple!. I turn on the switch to turn on the cameras and the monitor links up to them instantly without touching any buttons or anything. If your like me and like things to be hassle free without drama, this is hands down the setup you want. It's easy to install, super user friendly and the picture is 1080 HD so you see everything. It's a little pricy but it's worth every penny I promise. I spent months researching camera systems (wired and wireless) and this system came up every time the clear winner.

Hi Brandon, I'm curious what you chose for your toy hauler battery? It turns out that my toy hauler battery that I have had on my NOCO charger all winter is NG. Sad, because the NOCO charger that should have kept it fresh has indicated it was fine. Nope. Completely Dead... I need a new battery, and where you just setup your rig I'm guessing you may have done a little research for your battery choice. Thanks again for your help. 😊 Dan
@BrandonLund
@BrandonLund Жыл бұрын
Hey Dan, that was probably the one thing I didn't research. I just ended up going to ORileys and buying a lead acid car battery. The battery I used is for a 2013 Toyota Corolla. As of this post I have traveled 2k miles and laid over 7 days without any shore power connected using the interior 12 volt led lights and having the cameras powered all day and the battery is full using just the power provided from the tow vehicle. I think this battery was a good choice for power vs weight.
