Plan buying land now on the outskirt of the city for around $4000.00, and build slowly at your pace. By the time you decide to locate permanently, the area will be well developed and it will go a long way to cut the cost of your living in Ghana. You are at liberty to contact me at “frnkbekoe@gmail.com”.

@abby-a
@abby-a 4 жыл бұрын
@@cillygurlshops9423 Ghana in general is safe for the most part you might have a few killings here and there but its not like the killings and mass shootings we have in America. You have a Caribbean community and blk Americans that live in Aburi, you have black American that live in Cape Coast to. I don't know about Kumasi but I'm pretty sure that there might be some over there because that is the 2nd biggest city in Ghana after Accra) the Volta region you do have a few Blk Americans that live there as well. I don't know about Tema. But if you have a facebook they have groups for expats in ghana so they could probably help you out.

The housing budget for eg is for a mansion type housing..I love it.. I rent my house on spintex (3 bedroom) to a young couple for 1200 Gh Cedis which is only about $ 250 or less, and its a pretty nice house in a good area, close to Accra..Hope when you are settled in, We can do a meet for some of us who follow you and are also Ghana bound...Cheers.

I love following your channel, it's been very informative! My wife is Ghanaian and I am American and we plan to settle in Ghana. One thing that I would add to your list of costs that many people forget is the price of remittance or wire transfers. If someone has got this number down please let me know. We spend so much money just transferring money to Ghana because they take fees on each end of the transaction. If you are planning to move there and supplementing your life with money from the US or abroad you need to be aware of this sometimes overlooked fee. Thank you so much for sharing your journey!

With money apps like Sendwave around now, just maintain your bank account overseas. Maintain your telecommunication company such as T-mobile too and you will get transferred automatically to a local telecom company in Ghana. You can then have access to your bank app on your phone which will enable you to transfer money from your Sendwave app to a local mobile money account. You can also use your debit card to take money from the ATM’s at the local banks. You will however be charged $5.00 for each transaction at the banks.

Hi Ayo, my namesake! Hi Luke, I really like your shirt. Locally made clothing is one of the many treasures I look forward to when I move to Ghana. Leaving London 🇬🇧to retire in Ghana is becoming more desirable for me as a pensioner. My planned monthly budget in Ghana GHS4,500 . With my retirement pension for basic living I hope to earn as a live-in after school nanny. If Luke is old enough for a cell phone he may be old enough to perform tasks for pocket money. If your quarters can accommodate a raised bed or two I would encourage Luke to take up a hobby or two. Growing vegetables, learning & helping to compost suitable kitchen waste, keeping a record of what grows. Or perform tasks like exploring maps and planning travel with a goal to earn the pocket money for his phone. 🧗🏾‍♀️? How does that sound? I would love to know and keep in touch. 🌻🌾

When are you all actually moving to Ghana? Do you have a date set. I’ve contacted you all before. Very good broadcast. I currently live in NW Houston, and have several Ghanaian college students that I know personally that came to the states (and some who came to Houston and studied at HCC) through the Fulbright Commission’s CCI Foreign Exchange Program. Some live in or around Accra, and others in Kumasi and other areas of Ghana. If you don’t mind, I’d love for them to reach out to you via KZbin. They could be a good source for additional information you may need to know about Ghana.

Thank you so much for this breakdown, you like me is very detailed. I will have to travel to the states every year to maintain my citizenship so I did allow money for that tool But I was leaning toward The Gambia because it is much cheaper than Ghana according to KZbinrs living there. I'm told you must allow "tips" if you want to get things done there also. My wife and I will be visiting in January to check it out before making the plunge. However, my mind is made up, I will travel there and start the New Black Wall Street on the Motherland.

@@ExpatLifeGhana I am not criticizing you I am just stating a fact .I have done the same in Nigeria, used my pound exchange rate to live a very upper middle class lifestyle!. I do sometimes wonder if this is not a form of gentrification. I do not see any one building affordable housing in Africa, and there are many instances of slum dwellers being evicted from their homes to make way for some more high end housing targeted to those of us with dollars and pounds.Well I guess we are bringing needed foreign currency into the country and creating jobs so I try to justify it that way!
