I truly and sincerely appreciate you laying all of this out for those of us who dream to live this life someday. Though I'm not investor or well-off guy like you, I am very well traveled and look to travel a lot more. I'll be coming to Colombia for my very first time in a few weeks, and I'll be staying in Laureles, but looking to explore a bit and possibly look into setting up something for me to live abroad for maybe 6 months out of the year. You're a bit younger than I am, but I am subscribing and will pay attention to your videos. I want to learn!!! Teach me..

this is very informative. I'm actually thinking about relocating to Colombia. I know people in Medellin and Bucaramanga, and Colombians are so friendly, it's so easy to establish a social network there quickly. I've even looked at some of the quieter towns such as La Ceja or El Retiro. but, they may be too quiet!

Nice and informative video; I have been to Medellin twice and to Colombia about 15 times during the last 20 years (my wife is Colombian)...all the information seems very sensible and the cost of living in Colombia is indeed far lower than the US or Western Europe. Also, the cost of food is far lower than in the US or Western Europe, but in my experience it is not 100 - 200 USD a month if you want to eat well and go out every now and then, even if you stick to moderately priced restaurants with good local food...in any case, Marcello gives you a lot of good information here...Crepes & Waffles is great(!), and don't be mistaken by the name; it's a wonderful for lunch or dinner, and not just sweet foods (those are amazing, too, though).

Would like to be all in at $1,500/m or so since I am also looking at Panama $1,500/m as to not pass the 6 month total per year to avoid taxes. I already pay US taxes in Miami. FL. I am home based in my company so I am able to travel freely but would like to live in both Medellin and Panama alternating back and forth. Any reputable Real Estate company you would recommend?
