Very similar arrangement for a family of 3 our budget is $1100, but runs about $850/month for the necessities, including AC. However I love a hot shower from time time to time. We eat at home so eat healthy.

Yeah, you can save money wherever you live. It's a matter of deciding what's important to you, and what's not. If you scout around for cheaper deals on everything, this is very helpful too.

Yes, it can get very boring here. You would think there's lots to do BUT climate is hot and humid, not many expat restaurants if any outside of big cities.

depends on your ego and if you can make change, boredom?. pure bs theres so much to do here, like mnt biking, hiking, swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, traveling, horse back riding, farm tours, hot springs, exploring, if a city dude then Angeles, or Cebu, manila and lots of malls, if you are a princess and cant handle humidity or heat then stay in your country and dont comment! the weak wont make it here. unless your a fat lazy drunk

Not a bad place, but they have crammed too many rooms/bathrooms into it. Maybe works if you have a maid and two kids but otherwise it looks cramped/uncomfortable because of the tiny rooms. Downstairs should be one big open area and have an aircon...you shouldn't need a towel in your hand to wipe the sweat from your face while sitting in your living room. Find a better place if possible.
