The cool thing about this campaign is you have a lot of freedom because your first war is over quickly. You can go and hunt defeat traits and travel anywhere and your home island is relatively safe and even if you lose all your land you don't take attrition. But if you want to do that you need income and it's a lot easier if you have dark fortresses to give you more plus the bonuses to battle loot from the building in the fortresses. A lot of other campaigns are hamstrung by having to defend your land and the nearby AI seemingly coded to attack you when you aren't at war, essentially leading you around instead of deciding for yourself.

Can you even vassalize Dwarfs? I can't seem to be able to vassalize dwarfs, lizzards or vampire counts.

I stalked out with him against the lizardnen at their capital in old world. I didn't have the income to build a second army and could t take their capital with one.

In order to confederate, do you need dlc? I only see the option to vassalize

If you don't own the DLC that they are from, then you can't confederate with them. Because then you can play as their LL, and to do so, you gotta own them :P So yes that's why you can only make them your vassals even though they are of the same faction as you.

You left out a major, the ability to make portals. I like to send a couple of heroes far and wide to pre-position gates. Now you can instantly reinforce a hotspot from anywhere, escape, and hit and runs.

Open the Unholy Manifestations tab in the bottom right and select the gift to the far right that gives you a pink horror gift. Then select any army and it will build a portal at that province. 😊 Btw only Be’lakors army or his lords and heroes can enter the portals.

Vassalising factions is in the diplomacy tab and you need to be stronger then them to vassalize. If you take a settlement that was the homeland of a norsacan faction then you can automatically vassalize with them.

But listening 2 a 2 min rant about him legit skipped it. I didn't like the voice either, personally found it very annoying. Earl experience is experience chaos is rich as hell they can afford it im running 3 stacks by turn 25. I have norsca by the balls in under 10 turns. Only leaving me with throg to beat an vassals

In order to confederate a faction you must take there last settlement and select enforce confederate. However you won’t be able to recruit their lord if you do not own the DLC for that faction.
