My favorite machine as a kid when they built 19E in front of my house I was 5 when they first started blasting away the mountain aboutt 300 yards away but directly parallel with the back of your house. I used to see these vehicles he calls scrapers, as a kid I was told it was a pan. Either way, this video is heavy metal !!!

Back in the day we had four of those and we installed Master switches on it to kill the battery also you need it in neutral I saw it wasn't and the three levers to your right where your phone was all they have to be in the middle too in neutral what I was out or else it won't let you start that's a good barn find right there the metal's not really rusted so and the lines don't look like they're dry rotted too bad that would make someone a nice pan they're hard to find and that either up top that's just a simple it's actually got teeth on it sometimes they'll jump and you just put a stick in it and rejump it back really enjoy your videos thank you

Red Fuel: Before they started dyeing the fuel for tax tracking, there was a diesel additive called Primrose... and it turned the fuel red just like the off road diesel dye. That is likely the reason for the red fuel.

I help move one like that years ago we got it running but ever time u put pressure on anything the hoses would but time we got tires to hold air and replace hydraulic oil and hoses ..oh boy but ours was a old military pan with Detroit but at least that one is John deere..good luck guys great video

Double check any of the safety switches before giving up on the old girl. Maybe tap lightly on the starter, could be rusty brushes

I used non synthetic ATF in the fuel of my cat motors to keep the injectors clean until the dye rule came around. Didnt take much to turn it red.Flying J put an additive in their fuel that turned it red til then also.

if you ever cut the trees get some small rounds from the stump to count the rings. you could easily get them out in 3 pieces with the mini. cut the top off while holding it with the mini while leaving enough to be able to grab the next section

I resurrected an ol' early 70s straight drive D4D dozer in a situation like that about ten years ago and I'm still using in around the house on my property and all I have had to do is normal maintenance on it....I sure do miss that pre dye 55 cent a gallon off road fuel. I remember when it got over 75 cents we thought it was highway robbery!

Before low sulphur diesel in the early 90's there was Supreme diesel which just had additives and it was died red.

the chain is just out of time on the drive sprocket we cared a short 2x4 let it run over the sprocket and under the chain to get it back in time simple fix.

Hey Tim, great minds think alike, I told the owner that a guy could get up in the thousands of dollars just on the recovery, he told me I was trying to low ball him so I just hushed, still offered my help but oh well, its still got a few things in question, are the brakes frozen, starter probably bad, "but that can be taken apart on the tailgate and cleaned up" and the famous thing as I recall was the torque converter clutch, if the brakes frozen as soon as you try to move and one spin... china here it comes, but scrapers you can snake out the mud if the pan don't bottom out, but I wouldn't trust those hydraulic lines to try. I wouldn't like to see it scraped. I just like old iron and making it run.

@@cotontop3 Brother I said the same thing..they are good parts machines..I tried to buy the roller and water tanks, I have the parts to complete the roller but he gave a ungodly price for them.. I can't give him over scrap price and recover the pieces too..so on to the next find for me.

The IRS required diesel fuel that is road tax exempt be dyed red effective December 31, 1993 per 26 CFR 48.4082-2
