Hi Flock crew! We are very interested in recreating the custom hood vent. Is all the info for that included in the purchasable packet?

It is rare, if not non-existent when I see a renovation that I don't find things that I would do a bit differently, but I love every bit of this renovation. It has elements of English, Scandinavian and Japanese aesthetics but brought together in a sense of integrity.

This is my dream kitchen! Green cabinets, butcher block countertops, hidden fridge, open shelves, the farmhouse sink. It checks off nearly every mark of the list I had in mind for my kitchen. Ironically, I had to make due with using bead board with an existing kitchen set, it helps but truly this kitchen is my goals lol. Truly inspiring, might get me more interested in carpentry.
@serenakoleno93389 ай бұрын
Mine, too! Only thing I would change is having the cutting board a pull-out under the counter. I am old enough to remember kitchens used to have them. But at 5'7" I also appreciate having one higher than the standard counter top. Also like the compost bin, but would want lids to keep out the fruit flies. Better yet, a chute to outside bin. Wonder if anyone invented that?😂 Closest thing I saw was a tiny house homeowner opening kitchen window to drop scraps into outdoor bin on legs.

Sander did an excellent job! I can't believe that's his first kitchen renovation and in making cabinetry. Wow...the thoughtful and careful attention to details and smart, creative solutions for the smaller space and storage are very impressive. I love the colors and the copper, plants, pottery, farmhouse sink...well...I love it all! Well done, Sander!👍 Thank you, Summer.❤

I am not typically a " green" fan but this kitchen is stunning and I love the simplicity of the open cabinets, they look modern but very cozy. Beautiful job!

Agreed - I don't usually like green but that color with the cherry counter is gorgeous.

You guys did a wonderful job with that kitchen! I'm a retired electrician that probably worked on over 200 kitchens ranging from simple to ultra high end. This is the best use of space I've ever seen. And stunningly beautiful!
@gardenjoy522310 ай бұрын
Has a Dutch name, comes into a standard size Dutch kitchen and calls it really, really small and stresses the need to use every part of it to be able to cook in there. Believe me honey, your ancestors were dreaming of a kitchen this big! And yes, it's wonderful to cook in there. And you even have place to sit and eat in there! It's a rather spacious kitchen :) That said, it's absolutely lovely. The green adds to the cottage feel. The warm wood, the copper/gold accents all give it a luxury cozy feeling. Well done. When the fridge and freezer doors look like the cabinets, it all comes together and gives a calmer look. Otherwise it sticks out like a soar thumb.

Beautiful! One tip: if you are cooking regularly on that stove, get rid of the copper utensils behind it. Back in the 80’s copper was in and so i had some hanging in my kitchen be side the stove very similar to what you have behind it. Unless you want to be constantly washing them, any grease in the air sticks like crazy to them creating a powerful grimy dust magnet. My porcelain decorative items never collected the grime my copper stuff did. Likely some chemical electro weird thing. Don’t know. I just wasn’t up to washing and polishing it all weekly…yes weekly. Mind you this was just when I got a microwave and didn’t use it much so the stovetop was used very frequently. If it’s an Air BnB or guest cottage just remember to check them 😉 Watch your channel pretty regularly and this year made some pollinator wildflower box gardens to hide a chain link fence. Here’s a giggle for you…. I bought and planted milkweed seeds in amongst for the monarch butterflies knowing I won’t get plants until 2024. Afterwards I noticed that the dang things grow wild EVERYWHERE in the ditches here 🤣🤣🤣 . Question: do you know of a unique winter friendly catmint that is different than the common blue kind which for me grows and spreads like a hot damn. The are always humming with loads bees and I want more but maybe a different color, size …. Thanks for documenting this transformation. Pretty cool!

With the price of cabinets these days I would defiantly build my own. You did a great job! People also under value the availability to retro fit old cabinets when remodeling. A few years back we bought RTA cabinets from Conestoga Cabinets at the time it was the right choice for us, but while on their website I learned if I had an old cabinet system and wanted to keep my boxes and paint them (I used what Sherwin Williams suggested at the time for cabinet paint) I could have Conestoga custom make new draws and doors get the slow close hardware with them and have them color match and professionally painted by Conestoga in the Sherwin Williams paint for a perfect color match. Our project was a cabin in the woods project and we were painting 70 year old existing cabinets and adding RTA to the kitchen this how I utilized the Sherwin Willams paint in our project.

Good job. We just built a new home and a custom kitchen. Now, ours is a huge kitchen so I am not going to do comparisons, but the only criticism I might add is there is too much on counter tops….where it is such a small kitchen it might be better to maximize the tops with less on them. Just an idea.

Nice work! I really like the compost bins and side drawer for them at 16:37. When cutting produce, etc., make sure to use the back side of the knife and not the cutting side to scrape the scraps into the bins so that you don't dull your knife edge. The upper cabinets look nice, but without doors the contents will collect more dust and may get splattered by oils, etc. You also can't hide anything, so everything has to appear tidy all the time. However, those are all personal choices.

That'll be encouraging for Sander b/c it's not his favorite activity to be on camera, but he's a natural and very informative; and he's SO good at what he does. And I have good reason not to show up in all the videos. Namely I'm only here half time; I still manage the 'Plant One On Me' channel kzbin.info with weekly videos; gardening subsides 4-5 months out of the year here (alas, winter! gasp!); projects are bigger and take more time and therefore it's not quick results (e.g., the meadow took a full two years to see results; this renovation took 18 months); and of course we LOVE giving people in the area who are doing cool stuff time to shine on this channel because there is a lot to learn from others; so I trust you and others understand. But that being said, it's still a solid 8-10 full-length videos/month between the 2 channels. And that's on top of our regular gigs! Phew. We'll see how long we can keep that up. Thanks for watching! No matter who or what you tune in for. We all appreciate it! ;)

Beautiful design and execution throughout this small kitchen. I’m very happy that you stress the need for 24 inch counter depth appliances. Americans really need to get over our obsession with huge appliances which waste space, energy, and food. I wondered about the drawer above the refrigerator. Is this an access for electrical or is it storage?
