My grandmother used to always say, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”! I totally believe that statement! You have great talent and taste and there’s no need to try to change because it is “what is in”. Your style is what’s in!

I completely agree with you on this. When I got married in 1969 my Grandma said we could look in the attic and were free to take whatever we wanted.My great grandmother had recently died and the attic was full to brimming with her household items so we almost completely furnished our home , except soft furniture like sofa and chairs and mattress. I still have all that furniture and use it in our home. It is mostly all oak in mission style as she had gotten married in 1905. Over the last 55 years it has all been stripped down, repaired and restored as needed. No way we want the fake wood put it together from a box furniture they sell today.

You have a real knack for a beautiful cozy home! Love it! Are you willing for two suggestions? Remove the 3 tier basket in the entry behind the door. It seems to impede true open access, and you have several other basket items with flowers in the area. Instead, on the wall, add an oval dark gold or bronze framed mirror with a bit of scroll design at the top. It will bring in a bit of brightness and will add to the space both visually and floorspace. The other is to remove a dark item that reads “J W” at the end of your kitchen counter by your mixer. Thats a bit of a dark corner, made darker by that item. Replace it with NOTHING. It’s a bit of a cluttered area. I really do love your home! Editor - in more ways than one! 😉

I just love your home, the neutral colours and simplicity is so calming. I completely agree that you should switch up the chalkboard. It is nice, but I think if you put up your plate rack there, the one that your mom gave you, it would look great on that wall in the kitchen.

I have just bought the cutest thatch cottage in a village called McGregor in the Western Cape South Africa it borders on the wine lands and the Karoo which is a dry area, however there is a lot of water in our village. You should try soda blasting your chairs! Basically, you get a sandblaster and you fill it with baking soda instead of sand and it will take off the finish from furniture. I think temu has sandblasters by the way

I so agree that a wreath is nit the only door decor. I love using wall pockets of every kind. I have metal ones ,baskets, straw purses, wood pockets. And I have many styled for a season, so I just pull it off the hook in the garage and swap them out very easily. I have fall ones, ones with red geraniums and blue mini flowers with small American flags for June and July... of course Christmas ones with greens and pinecones and red berries. Also I do love the angled chairs with that gorgeous table in front of the sun room . I think the best decision you have made, is to bring back the corner cupboard in the dining room, It was made for that space. Do not move the chalkboard!!!!! It is so unique to your home. I am glad you don't make big changes in this sweet dream cottage. I have left so many bloggers who are no longer what I subscribed to in the beginning.

Not boring at all…. Love it. I feel the same way with my home… I am Happy with how it works and looks. Now my focus is the outside yard. New construction home, close to 5 yrs now, the yard was a clean slate and has been my focus now. I LOVE English cottage garden but living in Florida … not the easiest thing to do maybe even impossible but for sure keeps me going 😊

Hi Andrea! I just love your home (and Skye and Chad's as well!) I have felt the same way about my home right now. Typically I would be decked out for summer already but I'm just enjoying the decor that's up right now. I've had a lot of work at my business and now that I've had a bit of a break enough to catch my breath, I'm just happy to still see all the Spring decor. I guess when I feel like changing it I will. I've been collecting a few pieces that I know I want to use soon but for now I'm content. I'm in Wisconsin, so like your area, it is still chilly out here. I'm just now in the process of finding plants for outside as it is still only been in the 50's and low 60's. Then we will have a 70 or 80 degree day and it will drop to 50 at night.....our weather just keeps bouncing all over the place! And yes, allergies are ridiculous!
