Monica Creator i don’t think so? you’d have to do more research on the topic ig. for myself as a bi person i don’t think of it as lgbtqi+ at all, just that there is cute cottages and cows and berry foraging etc. i don’t think you can keep an aesthetic to one ‘group’ of people. for eg, people normally say ‘vottagecore lesbians’ which i defiantly think is what submerged it but, to answer your question, i don’t think it is only got the lgbtqi+ community.

Ugh the COLORS the LIGHTING that SWEATER it’s all so GOLD and SOFT these vibes are IMMACULATE. Also as someone who’s been doing embroidery for a few years, that’s really good for a first attempt! Your main issue is with pulling the thread too tight (in embroidery you want to keep the stitches relaxed and just laying on the fabric, unlike utility sewing like mending where you want tighter stitches for security) also if you want to try little flowers like that again look up the lazy daisy stitch! It’s v nice for simple lil flower petals (sorry if you knew some or all of this I just get really excited about embroidery)

I mostly use pinterest for fairy research, for my fairy book i'm writing, Honeysuckle and Lavender, two kids join a fairy school, Honeysuckle is african american, lavender is white. They are funny kids, not attitude, but just smart and funny. I don't know if this would interest you, but i have a question. These fairies don't have wings until they shrink into fairy form. I was thinking of having them live in lanterns and mail boxes and places like that. You have any other suggestions?

I spent my entire life feeling weirdly nostalgic for preindustrialism/cottagecore without actually knowing what cottagecore was. I even talked about it in therapy bc it felt like it was so out of reach, but also the only thing that would make me happy. Seeing people embrace it and learning about the cottagecore community has given me so much hope that my dream lifestyle isn’t out of reach and that I’m definitely not alone.

Rural girl here basically grew up in a self-sufficient household that's basically just real "cottagecore", idk why, but it's weird seeing people turn the life you grow up into a "core", both flattering as people like the idea of the life I live and insulting as it overlooks the difficulties of my families lifestyle (aka. Struggling with nature to protect crops, animals, and trying to afford materials to make clothes) and saying it's "simpler and easier than 'nomal' life". I have no clue why I felt this necessary to say, probably cause I'm sleep deprived. But yeah, I loved the video, as you did state this is romanticized version of real self-sufficient life, which most the cottagecore people I know are convinced it's actually represents reality. Plus you looked like you tried your best at stuff your not used to, which is fantastic!
@nineblackgoats
@nineblackgoats 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I grew up in a rural household too and like... Yeah I'm into cottagecore in my adult years because I want to return to that closeness to nature, minus all the harsh struggles. Like damn, a fireplace is lovely but I love to have an alternative when a hailstorm drenched all the firewood! 🤣 I agree with you, it's important to remember that this is a romanticized vision of the rural life and that it doesn't reflect the hardships of self-sufficiency. For me the essence of cottagecore is finding the right balance for yourself between rural life and modern comfort.

It's kinda really weird to listen to someone talk about doing stuff that you just do normally like it's an aesthetic lol I literally live in the PNW by a forest... have quail, crochet, embroider, bake bread almost daily, woodwork and wear skirts I made. Have a garden with gnomes and vegetables. Make my own kombucha and sourdough. Go berry picking with my kids. I could go on 😂😂 I definitely did not get into any of this stuff because of tiktok 😂 just how I was raised and things I loved. Maybe it's a PNW thing? I feel like tons of us are quirky like this. Yeah, it's all about slowing down and being mindful. I would even go one step further and incorporate processing our traumas and healing emotionally. The holistic psychologist on KZbin and Instagram was my first encounter with learning to heal and I've been doing the internal work this quarantine. It's nice to have the entire world slow down so we can think and breathe. I will also add that part of that healing is becoming aware that you can literally do anything you want. It's so important to show women of color, ESPECIALLY black women, in spaces that have been excluded from them. I know I don't have to explain to you that there is a tiny little box, usually oversexualized, that black women are forced into. It's beautiful that you did what you wanted and you should continue finding your joy, no matter what.

I adore this aesthetic, like Mori kei. The outward softness of clothing textures is the softness everyone should treat themselves to. We push and drive and let others (loved ones and strangers and work people) do the same when we need to be nice to ourselves. Being out in nature is getting away from the things and people and places that cause us stress. I don't like being outside. I am a magnet for crawly things and mosquitoes and bug repellent is nasty! My place to de-stress and let my thoughts wander is actually the library. I also suck at baking. I think the important thing about this aesthetic is the self-care that it inspires that is important, trending or not.

Something that really gets me in the cottagecore vibe is to go pick fruit at a local orchard or berry field. It’s relaxing and you get to support local farmers in the process!!

This was so cute, looked like a fun experiment. I'm finding it so interesting reading about different aesthetics. Cottage core (well, and farmcore and boho and hippie and cozy, etc.) sounds somewhat like what has naturally drawn me for years as I did things like work on farms to learn about homesteading and organic gardening, make healthy homemade meals, live in hippie cities and rural areas (Eugene, Oregon, was one), swim in the river, hikes, picnics, sing around campfire, arts and crafts, ways I've just been drawn to dress, etc., etc. Homesteaders, permaculturists, and tiny home culture fit into this. Thinking about it makes me want to sew skirts, bead earrings, play guitar more, and finally make my own coconut yogurt!

Although i dont usually embroider, when i do, i tie some sewing thread to the end of the embroidery thread, then slip the sewing thread into the needle, dragging the embroidery thread through ( it is a bit hard to tie the sewing thread around it tho, at least for me). hope this helps :) 💚🐸🌿🧚‍♀️🥧🍄

Yessss more POC in cottage core! You seem like such a sweet person and this was a fantastic video. If you ever consider going back out into the forest you probably won't get bitten by an ticks unless you try to pet a deer or something. My and my friend saw a deer, named him Cherry, and he didn't get scared so we sat next to him by a stream while he drank some water. It would've been very cottage core except we were being chatty and obnoxious. We are both Asians, South and East so it's really nice to see more POC girls being represented in tiktok aesthetics!

I'm so glad I've found this video! With all this covid19 mess and after the first year of college, I've realised I'm not so happy with my life, living in a big town, in a flat, and studying all day. This past year I've been really confused with everything and after a major breakdown I've gathered up the strength to change things. I've stumbled upon 'cottagecore' and it seems like more and more people are interested in the similar lifestyle. We all seek some calm and peaceful days!! But, it's very hard for me to be calm and peaceful and patient. I've been trying to do some embroidery between my study sessions, sometimes I'm cooking and I'll probably get some plants soon, but journaling, reading, spending time in nature and all the other more mental things seem pretty frustrating and hard. I'm glad I've found this video, because it helps to know that I'm not the only one. We're all in this together and I wish you all the best!

You knock this out of the park. Seeing a Black cottagecore girl is refreshing and always cute to see. As someone who's Romanian from both sides of the family and been to Romania before (but never grew up there), I'm seeing that a lot of cottagecore is influenced mostly from the European countryside, and more so Eastern European since... well, I am that. Not to say I don't see the British countryside influence either! So, something I think that could be fun to see is how you'd incorperate your own cultural heritage into cottagecore since again, it is mostly Eurocentric. Maybe your parents or other relatives have some cool handed-down stuff that could be incorperated, or maybe you could create your own! The cottagecore world is your oyster, go get them pearls!

I’ve loved everything cottagecore since a longggg time ago. Like I just loved natural vloggers, soft “grandma” clothes, enchanted forest cabin lifestyle, Scottish Irish medieval villages, little garden farm, traveling, plants and nature etc. I didn’t even know there’s this whole aesthetic. I discovered it through a “what’s your aesthetic” quiz 😚 now I feel at home 🏡 knowing so many people share my aesthetic 😃 sorry for the long story btw

This is adorable and so necessary. I strive for a blend of cottage/boho/ethnic aesthetic. Ive built it over a few years and i adore my living space now. A suggestion: interacting with nature is good and all but it helps to do so with bug repellent or essential oils , citronella candles, appropriate foot wear.
