At the end of the video (10:43 in the video), we showed pictures of what each garment looked like after 1 wash. The color definitely did fade. Have a great day!

Hey what percent polyester was in the shirt? I want to tie dye a sweater but it’s 90% cotton and 10% polyester….

100% polyester was the blend we used. It was a "Dry-Fit" type fabric you would find in athletic wear.

When dying polyester, the washing would take the dye right out as you experienced. What you saw at the point when you should have rinsed excess dye was a polyester merely wicking moisture, and a cotton shirt that had no saturation(not enough dye was used to penitrate the many layers and folds of fabric. There IS a poly-dye put out by several companies. This uses heat only to bind with the synthetics. It needs to be °180 F or higher to bind. A cotton-polyester blend will do well with the polyester dies also. A great experiment would be to quarter your shirt in various ways(sleeve in sleeve or traditional), and then fold from different corners, and predict what a V pattern will turn into on each shirt when unfolded. I think you will have fun with this experiment. 😉

Yeah, clearly from all of the same comments asking about post rinsing and washing you should've spent a couple of seconds at the end speaking to the fact that the dye didn't stick to the polyester rather than just the text. The way your video was edited, it seemed done before the quick text that showed, most people will exit the video at that moment. Less time spent on bloopers and more on your experiment results. Might be worth re-editing. ;) This was what your video was about yes??

Dont use 100 percent polyester they will never stick on the shirt, hoodie or pants use atleast 80% cotton or 90% for sure it will stick... But 100 is best to use but 100% cotton is a little bit Thin compare to 80 and 90... Hope I can help
