- 100% Cotton 30s White T Shirt
- DyStar Remazol Reactive Dyes
- Waterglass (Sodium Silicate) Or Soda Ash
- Natural Rubber Bands
- Plastic Bottle
- Latex Gloves
- Mask
- Water

Did you pre-wash the fabric and then soak it in soda ash, how long did you let it cure after you added the dye, what temperature are you going to be doing in the washing machine and are you using a fixative to set the dye in more

Kath Rogers I found it only works when u start with the shirt wet first!!

Start by soaking your tshirt in soda ash for 20 minutes then wring out so your shirt is damp. Then add dye. After dye has been done place in a bag (reuse plastic shopping bag they work great) and let the shirt cure for 48 hours before rinsing in water. Once the water is clear hand wash with a little blue dawn dish soap and rinse again. Hang to air dry. Always wash on cold so colors stay vibrant for longer and dry on cool.

@DianaMoon11428 Sorry I'm not familiar with that method. I only do the traditional dye approach so that the cotton fibers stay in good shape.

i got the dye at a local dye textile shop, here in indonesia. I use Remazol as the dye.

Yes. Warm water is great for fast color mixing. but its ok if you can mix the color using cold water

How long did you let sit before throwing in water bucket. I read a wide range of times. Some say 6-8 hours. Some say 24 hours. After you rinsed in bucket. Did you wash in washer and dry ?
