I actually know someone who was shot in the backside with a relatively low powered air rifle. Not only did this immediately incapacitate him with acute pain but it also landed him in hospital and ultimately surgery. The "gentleman" that fired the weapon was charged with and found guilty of a number of firearm offences which proceeded to conviction. Air rifles are not to be misused.

Have you heard of the precharged pneumatic pellet gun's? I have a 22 cal PCM rifle that shoots around 900fps. I can shoot 30 rounds at full fps before it starts shooting lower pressure shots. It pumps up to 2000 psi. Some other more expensive models will go up to 3 or 4 thousand psi & they make full auto & semi auto versions. Mine is a bolt action but if you handled the rifle you would never know it wasn't a rim fire 22. It's called a Beeman Chief. It's not the most expensive pellet rifle but it is actually a nice looking gun. It looks & feels like a hunting rifle.

Yup. I have a pcp air rifle (well, more than one, actually) that I would trust as a home defense weapon. It's the Seneca Sumatra, .25 caliber, lever-action, holds 6 shots, and it will punch clean through a 2x4 no problem. From firing it at various targets, I have no doubts that it would put a man on the ground...or IN the ground.
@razgril3 жыл бұрын
@@arekpetrosian4965 Nice. That one is a very good gun. I just bought a Seneca Eagle Claw in .25 caliber as well. It is an underlever, 10 shot semi-auto, pretty accurate at 70 mts, and I am loving it to bits can easily shoot 4 cartriges with a single air charge without losing much pressure by the end. The Sumatra you have can definitely bring down medium game without problem. A friend killed a wild hog with one bored for a larger caliber at about 35 mts. PCPs can punch hard and with some well placed shots could conceivably stop an intruder.

@@razgril Yeah, the Eagle Claw is a very nice one, too. I've actually thought of getting one, but...sigh...I already have a lever-action...LOL And you're right, it would definitely take down medium game, and as a home defense option, I think it would make someone re-think some life choices.

@@SMDTURBO You should treat all arms the same regardless. There are BB / Pellet guns that have similar weights to the real deal, in fact many airsoft guns are so similar to real guns that you wont know the difference until a shot is fired. I know because we have been supplying defense services to banks for the past 50 years. That said, pellet rifles have come a long way since the daisy. The gamo magnum .22 can punch a hole through an inch of concrete or 2pcs of 0.75 inch thick plywood. And that is a gun you can shoot with everyday - in a city, with neighbors.
