Imagine being a soldier who died for your country and not being recognised. Yes,India acknowledged She lost 20 of its brave soldiers in the clash with the PLA and were given the Great Honour for serving the country. Meanwhile,China did not disclose any although they later reluctantly acknowledged there were casualties on both sides. What a Disgrace,so much so for serving their country

I thought the same thing. India officially acknowledged it lost 20 soldiers and released their names and honoured them. But china acknowledged their losses only after a month or so, and that to they acknowledged only 4 deaths when in reality the Chinese losses are estimated to be around 20 - 45 based on various western intelligence sources. Imagine dying for your country, and your country doesn't even recognise you died serving your country.

Henry McMohan a British official was sent to carve out the borders between India and Tibet in the Shimla accord of 1912... Since China has always claimed Tibet as a part of the country, China never accepted that border agreement. So when China invaded Tibet in 1950 they claimed that Arunachal Pradesh( The eastern most state of India ) as a part of Tibet..Which became one of the causes of the 1962 Sino-Indo War and hostility between the two countries which exists till today..

The word was probably imported from Sanskrit, but the fact remains that these people were Malay, and they spoke Malay, and when they named their city singa-pura, they're not thinking of the Sanskrit word. This is like saying that Salt Lake City in Utah is named after the German word for salt, Salz.
