But China didn't recognize it, especially the UNCLOS. They want SCS for themselves because Japan controlled it in WWII; they believe Japan gave it to them, and it is a very idiotic assumption to say that it already belongs to them only because most countries in the ASEAN region have not yet gained their sovereignty before WWII; it's a greedy mentality by China. SCS was never a territory of any country before Japan took it, so it is natural that if Japan relinquished its ownership, it should be a neutral territory by default. That is why it should be decided by the UNCLOS.

Quad isn't as strong of an alliance as NATO by any means. Also, while China and Russia have many similarities, such as being totalitarian governments. They are very different in many ways. China is much more economically focused while Russia is more militarily focused. If you look at actual wars fought in recent years, China behaves very differently from Russia. Russia's invaded georgia, Crimea, and went head to head against the US interests in Syria and sided with the brutal dictator Assad, and now obviously the full blown war against Ukraine. China has shown aggression and hostilities but has not actually invaded any sovereign nation in recent decades. We'll see if that changes as they grow more powerful, can never be to careful when a powerful country gets hostile even if it's only in postering and rhetoric so far.

They are not investing from the bottom of their heart. They tolerate China as long as they produce low end products but once China wants to move up the value chain that is when hell broke out in the West. China is second to the US in economy, technology and military and this made the US poop in their pants. They cannot handle the heat of competition from China and thus resort to smearing China with its dominance in international media. Primacy is killing any possibilities for peaceful cooperation between China and the US. Peaceful growth is possible only if the US abandons its posture of war against China by any means. If the US is belligerent its two vassals, United Kingdom, and Australia act as the tip of the spear. The presence of China in our world has given emerging nations respite from the threats of violence from the ANGLO-SPHERE. Two camps are being led by The US in the case of the West and the other camp which is led by the US and THE ANGLO-SPHERE. The West never thought that Russia would fight back when NATO attempted to surround Russia with military bases. The West did not count on Russia´s ability to recuperate its former strength. That is why the US paid no attention to the entreaties of Russia to not push NATO membership on Ukraine and Georgia. The failure to consider the security concerns of Russia led to thje invasion of Georgia and the SPECIAL OPERATION against Ukrainian genocide of Russian speaking Ukrainians. Because the opposition is now major, The West is discovering that NEO-COLONIALISM will not have the upperhand this time. Russia has already won. No matter what the US and allies do neither China nor Russia can lose. The Ukrainian conflict is the battleground for the continuation of Neo-colonialism or a new UNITED NATIONS CENTERED world order that protects the sovereignty of all nations equally. I just hope that the ASEAN countries can walk that thin line between the super powers US and China and aren't as naive as EU-counties were over the last 2 decades where they followed the theory of interdependence when it comes to Russia.
