I read your comments all the time on youtube. And you are one of the reasons I bought a 2022 chief darkhorse .After watching your Comparison and size chart ,I did a demo .That was it I couldn't find one so I found used one at a BMW dealership with 650 mi on it with accessories for a great price and 1 year of the factory warranty left. So thanks for the great videos from Chicago Ill also enjoy the weather its dam cold and snowy here. Thanks Mike .

G'day Paul. So many bikes, so little time. Sometimes it also comes down to money available. One thing that remains a constant is the fact that we only have one run at life, therefore, have whatever bike takes your fancy at the time brother! I just downsized once more from a 650 RE, to the RE 350 Classic. Did I truly have to? No. I wanted to as I love that classic look and I am now restricted to just riding around town. Suits me perfectly. Go for whatever appeals to you mate. Cheers from up Nth.

Yep same here Paul, the bike needs to be irresistible for me to want it. I have my eye on a few at the moment, just timing is not there yet!

I almost went with a Indian last year but decided to go with a low rider st. My opinion it was the best overall platform for my dollar. Commuter, touring and city street cruising. Appreciate you and your work. Look forward to your thoughts on 2025 models. Thanks

Awesome choice, the Sunset Red Metallic is stunning! That's the colour I would've gone for if it was available when buying mine. Enjoy!

I own a 1988 Lowrider with a sidecar and a 2022 Pan America, I love both of them. I think HD and Indian's bigger bikes are just too expensive, and I'm not into forward pegs. I was almost tempted with the R18, when I was looking at the Pan Am, but I wanted a sports tourer, that could handle our rough Victorian roads, and that it does well.

I'm not loyal to any brand either, but on saying that, as you know Paul, Harley have nailed it for my needs at this point in time. But it's great to see what else is around. BMW is really the only other brand that would cater for my height, but accessories are always an issue with that brand.

Only issue with Indian is there is not really an aftermarket. Harley you can do many different things to your bike, make it more your own.
@BikesILike
@BikesILike 14 күн бұрын
Actually, the aftermarket segment is growing for Indian. But you're right, when it comes to aftermarket, Harley guys have it made

I would like to see you test drive a Triumph 1200 scrambler to see what you think.

Me too! I did ask the nearest Triumph dealer if I could test ride some Triumph's and they said the only way I could test ride one was if I bought one.

People should not be loyal to brand. Only value in the end. As for Indian, do you know anything about FTR plans? Looks like they are discontinued.
@BikesILike
@BikesILike 14 күн бұрын
I did see Shadetree Surgeon talking about that. I haven't heard anything, I'll ask the guys at Indian motorcycle Ballarat next time I'm in.

@@BikesILike I just checked his video, and you are right. He also mentions it. Hope they will refresh the FTR, as it is one of the kind bike. Also was planing to get one. Keep us posted if you found out something about this topic.

@@jackchristodoulou197 yes , that's often the case , depends on what models, i had a friend who just got home on a brand new gs - fork seal oil running out , a local kawasaki dealer took on a mechanic from a bmw dealer and was confused why there was so little warranty work - 2 jobs in 3 months , he said it was non stop at bmw dealer , shaft drive bearings can be bad , and electrics - like a lot of modern bikes , advice - if your spending a lot on one = get a FACTORY warranty if poss ;

I was lured away from indian because the dealership refused to uninstall the GPS tracking device that THEY installed, and also refused to remove that ridiculous "lifetime battery warranty" from the sales contract.

@BikesILike
@BikesILike 14 күн бұрын
Yeah, I like it! But for me, if I was going to keep it stock, I'd go for the Shotgun 650. I like it better. If I was going to spend money modifying, I'd go for the Continental 650.
